01 ALBANIA
|
Neil Norton, UK |
A very promising debut for
the Albanians, with a nice but jumpy song. Aneja can sing and with a good
performance in the semi-final she can sell the song well and gain
qualification for the Albanians. I would put this as a potential dark horse
of 2004. |

Very good attempt Albania. Go Albania! |

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Good solid debut
entry. A strong performance will give Albania a great chance to make the
final. |

Nothing special at all.
Anyway, Albania you are wellcome. |

this is the big song for a
first participation! Go to the final! |

Imazhi Yt is very interesting
but so boring a song for me .. |

What a surprise. Albania,
with it's first ESC entry, has many chances to be on the final in 2005. I
like the song and the voice is great. One of my favourites. |

Mark, UK
|
An excellent first entry.
Welcome and Good Luck! |

A good - but not spectacular
- Albanian debut. The English version isn t bad and the song has little
similarities with the Croatian jESC winner ( starts slow and gets more up
tempo then ). Could qualify if Anjeza sings and performs well.. |

A brave attempt for the first participation. Good to hear
a new language and the song should receive some good scores. |

Beautiful old fashioned song, which could pass the
semifinal |

Well, it seems that the new
ESC countries tried hard to get to the final on 15th May. Andorra bring us a
normal eurovision pop song, but with nice lyrics and a nice sound (specially
the language). I think she can do well. |
8 |
|
Max Surkont, Belarus |
It's a very interesting optimistic song. I think we'll
be able to see Andora on May15th :-) |

A good solid pop song and
great to see a new language at the Contest. |

Song can be placed in end,
but it unpleases me! |

Paul, Germany |
Intersting debut in Catalan.
The song reminds me of an old " San Remo " song from the early
eighties. It will be hard to qualify .......unfortunately ! |

03 AUSTRIA

An antidote to Alf … A thoughtful boyband ballad. Not
likely to do as well as Alf, but deserves to, in all honesty. |

it's boring for me, sorry for
austria but this year you will not to the top (1 out of 10) |

After Alf's show Tie Break
will be very usual on ESC (5 out of
10) |

A very good song after the worst song ever heard from Austria
from Alf Poir (7 out of 10) |
7 |
Luis Braga, Portugal
|
After one of its worse songs,
Austria returns to the ballad genre. It's a little old-fashioned, but it
stays in our head after listen a couple of times. I don't think they are score
much in the grand final. Maybe Austria didn't care much choosing its entry
this year, as they have already a place on the final? (5 out of 10) |
5 |
|
Max Surkont, Belarus |
Boring old-fashioned song. So, Austria is not so much
strong in ESC, but last year song was a rubbish, but it was origanal. What
special has THAT song? ... (4 out of 10) |
4 |
Mark, UK
|
Not a bad song but it just
does not stand out. |
6 |

The worst so far. No need to
say more... |

I like Austria very much, but
song is average! |
5 |
|
Paul, Germany |
Well, not much to say about
it. Boring and old fashioned - I expected A. Poier to do badly and I was
wrong. But there won t be a " special performance " by " Tie
Brake " this year...so I guess I am right this time ;-) |

The country sound / image seems a bit misplaced for
Eurovision, but this is quite a sophisticated little number. Good production
and the tune stays with you, even if you can’t hit all the notes! |

"Round I go" every
time I listen to the Belarus entry! My favourite!!!!! What a song!!!! Kind of
pop, kind of ethnic, kind of traditional, kind of modern! Great voice, great
rhythm. Wow! |

Max Surkont, Belarus |
My home-country's song, but I want to say that it was in
my top-5 of belarussian preselection even with such a poor performance. After
preview clip I became to love it even more! |

Mark, UK |
This is very different and if they perform it well, could
do very well too. |
7 |
Matthew, Poland |
Nice song!! Good job
Belarus!!! |

My early fav. - still a very interesting
country\up tempo mix. Alexandra s voice might sound a bit strange but not
bad. Could do both : very well or very bad. |

This has to be a contender to win Eurovision 2004. The song

I can not stand it. But I have
to be honest, this is a potential winner, the only one so far. |

this is a techno song, good
for eurovision but I think that Belgium hasn't the good choice. I would like elsie
morais and her reggae's song. It was funny but this is xandee and her friend
sergio(eurovision 2002) who is the winner. Shame - So,it's a good song! |
7 |
Maxim X. (Shoddy), Russia

Such simple bit is very
lovely for eurofans. I think, Xandee will be the second Beth |

A very very good song from Belgium and thats for the
flemish part. She must be in the top 10 at least |
10 |
Luis Braga, Portugal

I still can't understand what
people find in this song that makes it the fave in almost every chart on the
net. For me it is just another dance-tecno song. For me, Belgium has in this
song one of the worst since 1991. |

It deserve to be in top-5 of the contest, like it is in

Well, there are many "
official favs. " this year : Ireland, Germany, Sweden ( of course :-(
)...but unlike these countries, Belgium is the only bookmaker fav. that would
be a " deserved winner " . This is simply modern chard stuff. Fresh
and original...something I wanna see at future ESCs.. not that one
dimensional, old fashioned stuff. Goooo Xandee ;-) |

Ivan Mikulic has a great
voice. But I think that the song doesn’t fit to the ESC. My favourite were
Ivana Kindl and Andrea. I’m not sure if Ivan will pass the semi-final, but
nevertheless all the best, our dear neighbours! |

Smooth with a capital S. Lovely melody, which could only
come from the Adriatic coast. But
let’s hope they don’t bring the lady in the bag again…. |

suit the English language. |
