EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2004 - ISTANBUL – May 12 & 15 2004
Following Sertab Erener’s fantastic victory in Riga last
year, Istanbul is host city for Eurovision 2004. A record thirty-six countries
took part in this year’s new format Contest.
In the Semi Final (May 12), twenty-two countries competed for ten places in the Final on May 15. The lucky ten were joined by the big four EBU Contributors (Spain, France, UK and Germany) and the other ten best-placed countries from 2003.
A fantastic win for the Ukraine takes the Contest further east in 2005. Congratulations to Ruslana and huge thanks to Turkey for a great spectacle for the new look Contest.
