The President of Azerbaijan (Mr Ilham Aliyev) decrees that his wife (Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva) has been appointed as head of the organising committee for the 2012 contest in Baku.

Baku is confirmed as the host city for Eurovision 2012. Baku is the capital city of Azerbaijan and sits on the Caspian Sea. The Venue is yet to be confirmed.
