EUROVISION 2014 - COPENHAGEN - DENMARK

SECHUK JURY 2014 - THE JURY REVIEW FOR ARMENIA

2 Juries - one UK and one International, will comment on and rate the songs of ESC 2014 as they are chosen.

The idea is that the songs will be voted on first impresssions, as most TV viewers will do in May.

The main difference of course is that in May they will be subject to the same production standards and opportunties, something that differs at National Selection stage.

This is definitely a quality driven song and production! It's dynamic, contemporary, and different. It has that extra "x-factor" that will set it apart. It just gets a tad repetitive at parts, but with a strong visual performance this is a true contender.

I think this is quite good, but still not the best this year.

Benedek

Another good ballad but its starting to feel the same sweden , belgium , norway etc.It will have a good chance to go to the final and Armenia could have a pretty good result again.

What starts as a fragile and emotional piano ballad develops into something very different. 'Not Alone' has an unusual structure, a song of 3 parts ... Problem, development and solution. The intensity at the height of the song is incredible and hopefully this will also be transmitted during the live performance. Powerful arrangement, fantastic voice, universal message. Armenia has yet to win the contest but that could easily change this year! Stirring stuff ...

Awesome ... international sound ... amazing performer ... I will love to see this winning and visit Yerevan next year!

This is my favorite armenian entry ever (by far). This is such a melodic and deep quality entry.

Absolutely fantastic! I love this song. The singer has a great voice. I really want this song to do well, but the competition at the top is getting tough

Wow! By far the most amazing song Armenia have ever sent to the contest. The video clip is great, lyrics are gorgeous and the dubstep is not too over-the-top - just appropriate. I think I'll start my visa application now in time for 2015...

This song has everything, perfect song. A very emotional lyrics and performance, great music, amazing voice, beautiful video, everything is perfect. It's just awsome.

I like this one. I love the atmosphere in this song, Aram has a nice and pleasant voice. Armenia will probably be in the final and reach a good result but so much I like this entry, I am not sure it can win the Eurovision.

Pia

No, boring, nada ...the best part is when he sings some kind of hard rock

Roberto

Another great ballad; it rises slowly and carries hearts and minds away. I do like the powerful adult contemporary sounds, even if it could take more than one listen to really appreciate it. This could be a real contender, especially with a strong stage performance.

It was bound to happen, after a lonely planet last year, they had to have a song to say they are not alone. I am not sure if songs about being alone do well, Netherlands surely did not do well in 2011 with their alone song. I cannot imagine this song will ensure that Armenia is not alone on the scoreboard come May.

Wow. Love how this builds and builds, and Aram 's vocal versatility really shines in this.  Got goosebumps when I first heard "Not Alone", and I get them every time the dubstep kicks in. Love.

Yerevan 2015? It's not out of the question but it really depends on how this translates to the live performance. Love the brass, love the drums, love the strings, love the build but underneath the hype there isn't very much of substance.

Brian

What a surprise. I thought he was a comedian and this would be a comic song. Instead it's a huge build of a song with fab orchestration and i like the slight roughness of his voice. Definately in my top 10

This really has picked up a lot of buzz from fans and many are claiming it could be Yerevan 2015. Who knows? I expect this to be up there - it’s a very good song and Aram seems like a great performer, but I think it’s a bit early to be booking flights yet!

This starts very good and you sit up and listen and everything is going along nicely and then it just gets stuck in the repetitive grove part. It’s redeemed in part at the end and hopefully this will not put too many people off as this deserves to do well.

David B

Something quite thoughtful and beautiful from Armenia with a bit of dynamic orchestration thrown in for good measure. Probably not strong enough to win but it's heading for the final and maybe for once, a big stack of deserved votes .

Wow!  This is a stunning song.  It may be repetitive but it's got a fresh, modern and unique sound and this would be a worthy winner if he can pull it off.  Interested to hear how it comes over live.

Dean

I just don't get this song. It's well produced but highly repetitive. I don't really find much of a melody in it either. That said I'm expecting a powerful performance. Surely not a winner though?

5

Eddie

Simple, effective, dramatic and meaningful. Lyrics are too reparative but overall a potential winner!

Gary

Movie soundtrack material? I love the production and the build to this. Wow! Dramatic for sure and could give them a good result. Hard to tell how it will sound live, but I’d like to see them bring drama to the ESC14 final. A wow performance could easily see this top 10. Good job, Armenia (and home grown talent all-round – perfect!)

The first time I heard this I stopped 10 seconds from home.  I then gave it another shot to be fair and lasted to the end.  But I wish I hadn't.  It's not my sort of thing and it is way too repetitive.  Maybe I'm getting old?

Nico

Begins and builds with much promise, but I'm not convinced it really delivers on first listening. Great voice though and a nice song.

7

Paul J

So this is the one that is being tipped as a possible winner? It’s nice enough, but I just can’t see it. I like it though and given a good performance and right draw, who knows? Top 10 for sure!

A really pretty yet powerful ballad from Armenia , but ultimately a boring Eurovision song and far better suited as a movie soundtrack.  Nice effort though.

Wow. This is amazing. Aram MP3 has a superb voice and then, out of the blue, that dirty dirty dubstep. Possibly the most contemporary song ever to come to Eurovision, this sends shivers down my spine. I can't wait to hear this one performed live.
