This
has so much potential that is held back by a lack of dynamics. At
the beginning I almost expected this song to build up into a
powerful pop-ballad, but it just remained monotonous. The artist is
great, but she just deserves a more stellar song.

Quite boring song. But they will most
probably do great this year as well.

Another ballad in the Eurovision ring. This song is also as good
as the belgian and swedish song but maybe this time Azerbaijan will
not end so high on the scoreboard.I see this in the final for sure
especially with the history of this country's results but definitely
not a winner.

Sumptious orchestration, elegant,
relaxing and there is something very magical about this tragic but
hopeful ballad. Dilara's unique vocal style is perfect for the deep
and touching 'Start A Fire'. The ethnic flavour throughout the song
completes the picture. This a force to be reckoned with in
Copenhagen
. Truly lovely and hypnotizing !

Maybe
the most quality song of 2014. Dilara have a beautiful voice that
suits the melody perfectly. If it had a stronger and more memorable
chorus it will be perfect. Generally it remind me songs from movies

At
first sight this songs don't move a lot, but while listening it's a
grower. I suspect this song will have a spectacular show in
Copenhagen
and
yes will be top 5 again, liking or not their songs,
Azerbaijan
does
everything for offer a memorable show every year.

Undoubtedly she is a great singer, and the song is pleasant, but
i certainly wouldn’t go out to buy it, very ordinary

The song is pretty decent, and Dilara's voice is amazing in this.
But I feel that they've inserted tones of the local 'Balaban' to
make the song more Azeri, and whilst it worked in their 2012 entry
"When the Music Dies" it sounds totally unneccessary here.
The song was great without it.

Not
a winner but it's absolutely adorable. I think the song is quite
nice, classy entry, nice lyrics, fantastic singer and the
arrangement is beautiful and a perfect mixture of a contemporary
ballad with classic duduk's sound.

Yes Dilara has a nice voice but this song is so boring and
repetitive. Not much you can say about it, Azerbaijan will be in the
final and probably do very well again, but would not say it is
deserved.`

Like
Belgium
, difficult. Is it "in" with piano this year ? I have
already forgot the song ...

Light your fire ... and start it. Undoubtedly a beautiful song
and she has a very good voice too. It's not an "easy
song", but it seems and sounds like too predictable, like the
second half of a previous entry; it's the typical "oh, I've
heard that before" song. It's quite a pity because the song is
overall good.

It does not have the instant appeal as their song last year, but
it is a good song, well sung and with another "surprise"
performance in
Copenhagen
, this could do well. For some reason many songs this year have
interesting titles, and this is another one.

Elegant, quality entry. I like
the inclusion of local instruments here, and Dilara's voice is
lovely. It's subtle, though, so I don't expect this to win,
but this is something I can respect.

Another one on a slow burn. Could either do very well or given
the number of ballads this year give
Azerbaijan
their worst placing since joining the contest.

Yet another excellent entry from
Azerbaijan
. How do they do it year after year? I like the little bits of
ethnic music that they fit into the song. Will do well for them.

The
Land
of
Fire
has sent another competent singer
with a nice ballad, but I think there is a bit of a backlash against
them this year, especially amongst fans. I think this will still do
well for them though, and is likely to make the top 10.

Well
if you wait long enough a good one will appear. This is head and
shoulders above everything else chosen this year and the juries will
love it and it’s going to stand out with a good presentation. Are
we going back to
Baku
so
soon?

Yet another
ballad but this is more contemporary than the likes of
Spain
,
Sweden
and
Norway
. A bit 'Alicia Keys' in places and
moody throughout. This is probably not going to set the scoreboard
on fire but I rather like it.

Another well produced Swedish ballad from the
Baku
factory of clone
performers, songs and performances. Yeah...whatever...

I wasn't sure about this on first listen, but it's grown on me.
Dilara's voice reminds me of Eddi Reader, and she delivers this
sultry song well. Another good placing beckons. I wasn't sure about

A
great voice and such a warm song in sound. I love it but what holds
it back is the build. The music builds but the song doesn't. Will do
well.

Why does AZ - land of fire - contiunally send Scandinavian/Greek
drabness? Is there no
song writing talent in AZ? Buying in a song doesn’t make it yours.
Hopefully this one won’t make top 10 and they will send some true
AZ fire in 2015. Nothing
to light my fire here - all fairly dreary. She’s pretty and seems
to have a nice voice and I’m sure they will throw millions at the
presentation, but I’m unimpressed. Fire
please.

Quite classy but then again it is a
run-of-the-mill ballad that is quite mawkish; it is like a musical
number Elaine Paige might disregard. She won't be setting the
scoreboard on fire that is for sure.

Beautiful
girl, beautiful voice, beautiful melancholy song. Simple,
without the usual vocal acrobatics. Am glad the running order is
arranged so that we get a break from ballads though.

When it comes to
Eurovision
,
Azerbaijan
know what they’re doing (alleged vote rigging aside). I’ve
liked all their songs. This reminds me of their entry from 2012. I
dare say juries will love it but is it instant enough? Top 10,
possibly top 5.

No one can deny this is not a beautifully contructed and sung
song, and that occasional duduk sound is lovely, but I am finding it
difficult to remember how this one goes and have to keep playing it
to jog the memory. I need a few more listens. Whereas
"Mother" I remembered after one listen
