EUROVISION 2014 - COPENHAGEN - DENMARK

SECHUK JURY 2014 - THE JURY REVIEW FOR GERMANY

2 Juries - one UK and one International, will comment on and rate the songs of ESC 2014 as they are chosen.

The idea is that the songs will be voted on first impresssions, as most TV viewers will do in May.

The main difference of course is that in May they will be subject to the same production standards and opportunties, something that differs at National Selection stage.

My "cup of tea"! A uniquely arranged song with a charismatic artist! I definitely think that this was by far the best in the German selection... I am afraid that many will enjoy the song when they hear it but will forget about it soon after.

I don't know why, but for me this i so boring and bad music, I am totally untouched.

Well Germany will not win again. Its a decent song but its not outstanding.I don't see this higher than top 10-15 but than again I might bee wrong

After gaining a 'wildcard' for the German national final it came as a surprise when Elaiza and their song 'Is It Right' triumphed over more famous acts. Yes, it is catchy and very well performed by the three charming girls but I doubt that Germany will be back in the Top 10 in Copenhagen with this mix of Eastern European folk and a more modern sound.

Very interesting song, nice performer, cool atmosphere it will do good ... somewhere around 12 position

Elaiza is a very charming performer. It was very clear that Germans were gonna give them the victory, but why?. I cannot complain for the song, I just think Germany had 5 better options and they will remain watching the contest by TV. I'm shocked with this.

I really like this song - its a bit quirky which is always good in my books. Maybe won’t  be top 5 but will do well

Well the song doesn't appear to go anywhere, and I predict this will languish near the bottom of the final table. Elaiza, however, is a very engaging performer - I was very impressed with her live performance at the national final.

Great song. I really like it, is catchy, good song & rhythm. The singer is awesome, she has charisma. She is really good singer and performer.  The song and performance was simply absolutely fantastic and the best of the night.

Don't really like anything about this one. A pity as Germany 's national final had some good entries. Don't see Germany doing great this year with this.

Pia

Boring....starts like a tango, but that's all. I already forgot this ......

Another moment of disappointment for me so far. They had excellent and powerful songs in their Final and they have chosen a simple, boring, repetitive tune. Too simple and very boring. This really leaves me indifferent: I can't feel real emotions. A dull, sketchy entry.

Is it right? Maybe for some fans but not for me. My music taste from Germany is schlager and so anything else will struggle to grab my attention. This is better than some items they have had in recently years and I am happy the wildcard entry finally won.

Call me crazy, but there's something in this that reminds me of " Tragic Kingdom "-era No Doubt. Might just be her voice. This might not be the stand-out winner, but I generally like this!

Brave choice by Germany rejecting a formula ESC song and a big name in the German music scene. Simple song and surprise winner with instant appeal. Having links to Poland and Ukraine should also guarantee points.

Not an unpleasent song, it bobbles along quite nicely but I can't see it setting the contest on fire. I think it may get lost amongst the other songs.

Well it’s nice that the underdog won for a change but really, I don’t think this song deserved to. It’s alright, but is just a bit unremarkable and for me it screams LAST PLACE in the final. I just cannot think who would pick up their phone to vote for it!

You know you’re on a loser when a song annoys you within the first 10 seconds.  It’s totally soulless and seems to drain energy from the room. I can’t see this scoring much although it is an actual song, despite being poorly presented, which is a rarity this year.

This one plods along in a very odd way and on some level reminds me of Latvia 's maudlin 2010 entry ('What for?') However, I like this for daring to be different. A bottom five placing is probably on the cards but for the moment, I'm enjoying this awkward little song!

I honestly think this is one of the worst songs I've ever heard in the history of Eurovision.  I cannot think on ONE positive thing to say about it, so I'd rather just say nothing.

What a weak German final.  This didn't stand out at all, although the lead singer is obviously delighted to have been selected above all the 'established' acts.  Maybe it's a grower....but it's not for me.

Eddie

Is it right? Sorry Germany , i don't think so. It's a well crafted song and she has a good voice. It's a slow toe tapper but doesn't go anywhere. It's pleasant but not a winner. The performance reminds me of being in a small cafe late night somewhere in Europe.I want to like it more but can't.

I like this, but have no idea what it was up against, although I hear it was the underdog and everyone loves an underdog. It’s a modern sound by a cool looking group and has enough of a hook to please the viewing public. I love the production and the lead vocal is also very strong. This should do well for Germany and I hope it does.

Oh dear.  Is it right sh`e sings? No sorry, it is wrong.  It has moments where it sounds like it is about to go great but then becomes a mess.  She seems nice but her singing sounds slightly manic.  Don't think this will be reaching dizzy heights.  Is it right?

Nico

Once again the Germans are to be congratulated for setting up a contest that takes their entry seriously. The song is contemporary and though doesn't drive me wild, adds welcome modernity and variety to the show.

This is irritating and horrible to listen to! Is it right or is it wrong? Wrong!

In pure disbelief I watched as Germany chose a sure-fire disaster over a potential overall winner.  Truly gutted at Germany 's lost chance and lack of vision in choosing such a tuneless mess.

This is a great song and for me the stand-out from the German final. An amazing achievement for the unheard-off girls who came through the wildcard round and were pitted against all those established stars. And I'm so glad Unheilig didn't win. I love it, although sadly I expect it will not do as well as the other Big 5s.
