EUROVISION 2014 - COPENHAGEN - DENMARK

SECHUK JURY 2014 - THE JURY REVIEW FOR HUNGARY

2 Juries - one UK and one International, will comment on and rate the songs of ESC 2014 as they are chosen.

The idea is that the songs will be voted on first impresssions, as most TV viewers will do in May.

The main difference of course is that in May they will be subject to the same production standards and opportunties, something that differs at National Selection stage.

Most songs have an amazing chorus and then lack in every other aspect, this is the exact opposite. There is huge potential in this song, and I am sure that this one will grow on me. I was captivated by the beginning of the song... it has a very contemporary feel, yet it is still unique. However, in order to sell me on this one, the chorus will need to match the power of the beginning.

The best song as far, this will be really dangerous in Copenhagen , and for me it feels like we might be going to Budapest next year.

The whole preselection show the Dal was very strong with a lot of good entries. Hungary made a very good effort to send a good song and they succeeded. This is a superb song.It will definitely stand out.It has a great message, very modern and classy in the same time, with good stage construction. The singer has a great voice.Hungary could score very high with this song maybe even win.For me this song is the best with a mile

Unusual and thought-provoking subject matter for Hungary 's 2014 Eurosong, namely overcoming child abuse. A song of shifting moods that adds to the impact (the structure of the song goes very well with the message it wants to convey) This will see them back in the final for a fourth consecutive year. Great vocals too.

Very interesting song, contemporary and recent. The singer looks and voice is definetly a big plus. For me Hungary deserve this year to land Again in the Top 10 and from what we hear up until now it deserve it.

Some countries have a very local point of view when choosing entries. Hungary instead is a very versatile nation, sometimes you can hate their entries, but many times you can love them, in this case I'm close to love this entry.

I love the sentiment of the video and quite like the song but not sure how the story of the song could be portrayed on the stage. If it can it should get enormous votes

I've got mixed feelings about this. I like Andras' vocals, and I like the backing music - it sounds modern and appropriate for the lyrics. But for some reason the vocals and the track don't really fit - the chorus needs some strong, massive vocals, and Andras just sounds a little too delicate. Which is a shame because I cannot see anything else wrong with it. Still pleasant to listen to.

The singer deserved to win with an amazing song like this. He is very talented, and the vocals were awesome in live. This has the potential to become a huge radio hit. Great modern song with a great modern sound, it even sounds more fresh. Strong message, great the performance.

What a good song!. Hungary again this year has a great entry and is becoming one of my favorite Eurovision Nation. Kallay has a great voice, very professional and the song has a good message. Hungary should qualify to the final and hope for a great result for Hungary .

What a heartbreaking video, he gets points for this. A good singer too, I hope he is good on stage too, this is something ( I feel it in my body...)

A touching ballad, dramatic and yearning enough. Very good contemporary sounds, strong lyrics and some social suggestions. I will be happy to see him in the Final with a worthy and not improvised performance.

This is super quality from a country with not such a known music industry. It is not the kind of song I normally would have in my top 3 but the song is so far the best of those selected this year and Eurovision 2015 in Badapest sounds great. I saw imagines of a male Loreen in the video.

A "message song" that's not completely syrupy or twee? Are we sure this is Eurovision? András has a great, smooth R&B-suited voice and innovative arrangement that will make people take notice. It's hard to convey energy and melancholy at the same time, but this does it without making the song a downer, a hard balance to strike.

Not for the first time Hungary are sending a song with a serious message to Eurovision. A Dal was no-nonense with a good selection of songs, many of which were good enough for the final itself. 'Running', with a clear theme of child abuse should see Hungary safely through to the final but the subject matter may be too dark for it to win.

Brian

Excellent song with a real story to it that makes sense and a good beat to it, Hungary have chosen well. They should easily get through the semi-final with this and deserve a good placing in the final.

On record, I think this is a pretty good song, but I am not convinced so much with the live performance. It’s ok, but I think it lacks something. Still, András performs it well. Many people think this could win, but I don’t think it’s good enough, however, I can see it in the upper echelons of the scoreboard. Nice try.

I detest this in every way imaginable.

Full marks to Hungary for choosing something credible and contemporary. While Kallay sounds a bit nasal during the slightly depressing verse, all is well for the catchy and uptempo chorus. This song will hopefully make it to the final where it will hopefully do well.

The subject matter may be dark, but this is a terrific song.  It’s contemporary, well-structured and complex.  I think this is Top 5 in the final.  Superb effort!

9

Dean

I loved Hungary ’s song last year and this song is head and shoulders above anything chosen so far. Modern and catchy, surely this will be Top 5. Excellent.

Eddie

A great modern song. Great singer, really well performed and even though the subject matter is sensitive, it's a great production. Maybe too cool for ESC but then again.

Gary

I am unconvinced of the subject matter of this song for ESC and while I am happy to see a contemporary song in the Contest, this is not what I was looking for. A little dull and repetitive for me, although I accept it is a quality modern song.

I want to like it but the subject matter is too dark (it feels wrong to cheer at the end?).  He is a competent singer and I like the melodic flow; a song with a very strong message.  Compared to most of what has been picked thus far though, it is very good.

Nico

The first serious contender for the crown. This is pretty darn perfect. Not seen the likes of it at ESC before and would be a worthy winner.

Whoa - Hungary in potential winner shocker? This has one of those "I visualise the credits running to this" moments. Their best chance for a while.

Sally-Ann

Both song and singer has a vast fanbase in the UK now, and while not my cup of tea, it's a grown up song, excellently performed.  Kudos to Hungary .

Tristán

A great singer, and an amazing song... far better than Andras's previous attempts. Is the subject matter too dark and gloomy for Eurovision? Possibly, but nothing can take away the fact that this is utter class.
