I couldn't even listen to the whole song. Poor arrangement and
just a downright awful entry. I'd be surprised if this gets top 15
in the semifinal... yes... the 16 entry semifinal.

What I like with this, is that they dare to be different, which
is really cool, and they will get a plus for that. Even though the
song is not that nice.

Huge disappointment for me.This is a very bold song. Its trying to
be happy but its sad. It is a song that will be bottom in semi
final. I’m so sorry this year for
Iceland
.

The Icelanders will have to wait
another year for that so far elusive Euro victory. Indeed their
run of qualifying for the final each year since 2008 looks to
be in jeopardy. All credit for their enthusiasm and for the message here
that deals with prejudice and how easy it is to fix it, however this
kind of song usually doesn't travel too well and I can't see 2014
being any different.

Whats
happening this year with the joke entries. This is another one that
will suffer to get in the final. For me it was the best choice from
the awful Icelandic National Final but again so medium

When
one finds a final with such a low musical level, one can understand
how such a poor song with guys with fun beards and hairstyles
wearing colorfull clothes are hiding the poverty of the music
included on the icelandic piece. Shame because
Iceland
is
usually a personal favorite.

This is yet another gimmick song, and I think that it will get
lost in all the other rubbish that is being sent this year. I do
however like the fact that it is sung in Icelandic

Oh
Iceland
, you were doing so well! After a run of songs from 2008 that
would have consistently rated 8+ from me, they choose this 2nd rate
Presidents of the
USA
cover band (with outfit colours from The Wiggles). It's catchy
and memorable, for sure, but I really don't see this qualifying.
Although the next time I'm in
Reykjavik
I'll remember to pop down to Adidas as they look as though they
have decent clearence sales!

The song isn't a joke entry, but they
sure do look like they're singing a joke entry. Not bad, kinda fun
and catchy. It surely isn't the best song out there, but neither is
it the worst. One thing is for sure, it's a different and an unusual
genre to feature. I don't know what to think about it. Reminds me of
Koza Mostra and their clothes of the teletubbies (Barbara Dex
candidate?). Not
sure if that is positive or negative. Anyway, it's nice to
see something else from
Iceland
for once.

I'm a little disappointed from
Iceland
's choice this year. I do not dislike the song, it is energetic,
it give you a smile but that's about it. It will be a difficult bet
for
Iceland
to go to the Final

hmhmmmm......I don´t know , love or hate it. I think I dislike.
The start was guite good , but then it got worse and worse...no this

Sorry
Iceland

I was ready to give 10 to "Von" by Gissur Páll
Gissurarson and when I saw the result I was astonished. Those
Jumping Gym-wears remind me of the Teletubbies or the Portuguese
entry in 1981 and they were singing like a B-52's early track.
Iceland
won't win, that's the point. This song is not so bad but is not so
good, and I think it's time to clear up when there's a real
challenge from a (limited) "being-a-part-of-it".

The four guys in their sort of track suits look ready for the
winter olympics, instead they are heading for Eurovision. Colourful
and sort of catchy but this kind of novelty song may work for your
local population but it is not not going to get the majority of
votes from other countries unless people vote for it because it is
so different. I have always liked the Icelandic entry besides 2006,
but this time it also gets a no from me.

I have the feeling that I'm not
*quite* the target audience for Pollapönk, since I'm not 7
anymore...but if you took away the jumpsuits and hadn't told me that
this was a band primarily for kids, I would have believed it. It's
fun and has a great energy and hook, but I'm not sure if it's enough
to get them to Saturday.

Another final with a good selection of songs. The best song
didn't even make it to the final 2! Can't work out if Pöllapunk are
serious or a novelty. Catchy song though.

And yet another terrible song. 2014 is turning out to be a bad
year. I just can't find anything positive to say about this so
I won't.

Iceland
have qualified for the past 6 years in a row, but I think their
lucky streak is about to come to an end. This song might work in
Iceland
but it’s just going to seem like a joke entry to the rest of
the Europeans. For me, this is completely devoid of any positive
aspects at all, and is the worst Icelandic entry I can remember.
Even worse than Bo Halldorsson in 1995!

They had 4 really good songs plus this awful creation. I fail to
see even the joke, if it is a joke, nor do I hear anything melodic
or tuneful or pleasing, or more importantly anything that would
entice me to vote.

There is obviously a message in this
entry but unfortunately, I think this will be lost on the voters of
Europe
. As a song, it
has a fairly basic rhythm and OK, there's a nice clap-along section
for the audience.
Iceland
has given us masterpieces like "Is it true?" and
overblown nonsense like "Never forget". The 2014 entry is
neither of these. It's just a bland little pop song that
Europe
will listen to
and then shrug.

I
like the colourful outfits and the beards. That’s it.
Those are the only things I like about this entry…beards and
tracksuits. The song is woeful.

What
on earth is going on this year?! It's all going too left field. A
bit shouty and without a clear hook.
Iceland
is
one of my favourite Eurovision countries, but this just isn't my
bag.

I want to like this but I can't. Even with Frankie Boyle on
backing vocals, it's not the best Icelandic entry! It changes too
much in melody and flow. Borderline qualifier for me.

So that’s what happened to Carlos Paiăo’s ‘Play-Back’
oufits! 6 songs in the National Final, 5 of which would have added
some fun and/or some class to the Contest (even a possible winner in
there) and they choose this?! It supposedly has a positive message,
but that needs a good sound to make it work. This is likely to go
the way of Latvia 2013.

Despite them looking like a bunch of
dads about to go for a run via the pub, it's not a place mum would
like to go to. Just awful; turn the heating up and let it melt
away.

When you have something as weird and wonderful as Amor in your
final and precious little else, what idiot would pick this? Don't
they even have a jury to make them see half sense? Perhaps the good
people at RUV could loan the money to
Serbia
or
Bosnia
to send a decent song for them as a joint entry. A wasted
three minutes of anyone's time.

Punk has rarely come with beards and
primary coloured tracksuits, and nor has it often come from
Iceland
. In an appalling year, this at least stands out for its
‘what the hell?’ factor.

Really enjoyable song from a top quality final -- I liked all six
songs, and while I would have preferred Sigríđur I can't deny that this is a breath of fresh air after three
awful decisions from
Switzerland
,
Malta
and
Finland
. I can't help being
reminded of Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride", though.
YouTube it.
