EUROVISION 2014 - COPENHAGEN - DENMARK

SECHUK JURY 2014 - THE JURY REVIEW FOR MACEDONIA

2 Juries - one UK and one International, will comment on and rate the songs of ESC 2014 as they are chosen.

The idea is that the songs will be voted on first impresssions, as most TV viewers will do in May.

The main difference of course is that in May they will be subject to the same production standards and opportunties, something that differs at National Selection stage.

This is so refreshing. I love the energy of the song and it is so catchy that I find myself humming the song at completely random times! I think a bigger stage and stronger production would definitely do this song even more justice, and I know that Tijana has the capability of captivating an audience.

An okej song, but not as good as the best, and it is something with Tijana that disturbs me, I can't say what, but something is.

This song and singer is pretty good.I think it will go to the final and maybe with the jury will and around top 10-15.Still its hard to call.Overall for me this song isn't working to much

A pop song full of energy with a very contemporary sound. After missing the 2013 final, this should see them safely back on the Saturday evening in Copenhagen ... One of their strongest entries and Tijana looks to be a lady who knows how to enjoy herself. This will have to stand on its own merits and with considerably less support from the other ex-Yugoslavian republics than in previous years but it is looking good for them ...

I was definetly expecting something more from Tijana ... a song with more soul. The specific song is like somebody wrote it based on a eurovision recipe but the end result was the "cake" to come out bitter and not sweet.

A nice aproach of a Balkanic country to the contemporary music. Tijana looks like a very well experienced singer, and I like her style, I wish a nice placement to this country in Copenhaguen

Sounds like a good song though have no idea whether this singer can actually sing live as she chose to lip - sinc whern the song was presented. My guess is she can’t really sing!

This is a great song! This sounds great in both English and Macedonian and I'd be very surprised (and disappointed) if this failed to qualify. I'm a little curious as to how it would be staged in Copenhagen , but just on the track alone, this is fantastic.

Nice mid-tempo pop song that sounds like a anthem, a fine production and with sounds professional. It's nice while it lasts, but you need several listens until you find it enjoyable. No doubt Tijana is a woman with sweet personality and attitude, and a competent performer. She has a great voice.  I'm sure she'll be much better come May.

I like it. It is for sure catchy, modern and fresh. Tijana has a nice voice too. I think this entry has a good potential and should work on the staging but it should qualify for the final.

Pia

A very good artist , the melody is quite simple, but she´s so good on stage , I think she takes Macedonia to the final,

Roberto

A nice pop-dance tune, catchy enough not to become boring or foreseeable. A pleasant moment.

7

Roy

Also a huge improvement from last year. Although not earth breaking original, it is quite a nice song and could give Macedonia into the final. Maybe a combination of English and Macedonian would be nice?

Samantha

I love the recent Macedonian trend to send seasoned performers who know how to put on a competent, confident performance (even if this first glimpse is lip-synched). This is bound to get everyone out on the dance floor, hands-in-the-air, singing along! Great shot at qualification.

Nothing fundamentally wrong with this song but the formula leaves me cold. Think it may get lost unless Brigitte Nielsen lookalike Tijana stands out. Shrewd move.

Well it’s been a while since I have liked a Macedonian entry on first hearing. Wonder what language she will actually sing it in. It rolls along at a good pace and I like the English version. Would like to see this in the final and to get a good placing for them

Tijana is certainly a character, and this reminds me a little of Pink, both in style and look. It’s catchy and well performed, but Macedonia are at a disadvantage as they’re pretty much one of the only Balkan countries taking part this year. On quality, I think it is a deserved qualifier, but I fear it may just miss out.

David A

I think with a makeover there could be a decent song in there someplace. It’s not going to win anything big but with some remodelling it could get them a semi-decent result.

She looks like a bit of a bruiser! Undeniably the most contemporary effort served up by the Macedonians yet it somehow has that ‘work in progress’ feel about it. The English lyrics are horribly lame and the tune lacks originality. Maybe a bombastic stage performance will lift things in Copenhagen . Maybe not.

David E

Oh My!  There’s more than a touch of Amanda Lear here, and that’s a good thing in my book!  This is a fresh and modern sounding track and deserves to get then to the final.

7

Dean

This is the best song this country has ever entered. A definite finalist with plenty of drive, attitude and groove, this is going to be big on the Eurovision dancefloor. Poptastic.

8

Eddie

Cascada's sister from the Balkans. I like the production and song but have heard it many times before. The performance needs stage direction. Just feels lost. Overall, an average bland pop song.

For those old enough to remember… I keep seeing Yazz! I do like this, although its generic dance sound doesn’t link it to its national source. That said, I think it will do well for them and I am sure to be dancing to it at some point. Go FYROM!

Matt

I do actually like this as it is a song that finally got my foot tapping.  However, I am distracted by her as she reminds me of a nodding dog (no offence intended) and I just keep thinking Churchill! And she looks quite fierce! But a good old Eurosong.

7

Nico

Really like this, and it's sad to say, but I can't imagine this sounding in as good in the FYRoMian language. Easily a finalist.

Paul J

Ok she was miming in the performance and despite looking like Myra Hindley, I like this, one of their best efforts and could see them score their first top 5!

8

Sally-Ann

In any other year, this would be a very average song, but it stands out as instantly tuneful and memorable in a field of grey.

6

Tristán

This has some moments but it's largely fairly unforgettable. In fact, I keep forgetting Macedonia has already chosen their song. I can't see this progressing to the final, especially with no Serbian or Bosnian assistance. Sorry, ex-Yugoslavian Pink look-a-like
