Australia and the Czech Republic seem to be on the same boat this year. All of the elements are there... the voice, the music and the lyrics! It just needs to be translated well on stage to stand out, but I don't think Australia will have an issue with that!

I like Dami A lot. She is great, she has class and style. I think this song will be presented in a very modern and good way and she will deliver but the song itself isn't the best. I think still Australia will qualify easily but top 5 not a chance. For me this song is nice and very trendy but not good enough for the win.

Although I disagree with the participation of this "COUNTRY- CONTINENT"  I have to admit that this is a beautiful ballad by a singer with a beautiful voice that will boost the fans to send Australia to the final " by stealing " a place from a European country which admittedly has the very big priority . Downies in this Contest  we need some inspiration and not copying of ideas . I 'm sorry Australia but you must leave us alone.

Good powerful ballad, but not enough emotions for me. I expect this song will sound better live in Stockholm , but for now only 7 from me.

Clearly the Australian's are taking the contest very seriously and they are going for gold with their second entry. Dami Im has a beautiful tone to her voice and 'Sound Of Silence' really plays to her vulnerability in the verses and her awesome vocal power in the chorus (with heavy beat). This is a very powerful, professional and contemporary mid-tempo ballad with an anthemic feel and a big catchy chorus.  It is perhaps a little too Americanized but  Australia will go very, very close in Stockholm .

This song starts off really good, but it lacks that last bit off "oomph" to become great. Good voice, good song but it gets a bit boring at the end and my mind starts to wander and all I hear is "Sound of silence" over and over.

I kept wondering if this song was going anywhere. And it wasn't. Seems like we are always at the beginning. Dami Im has a really interesting voice which in a way makes the song.

When I knew Dami Im was representing Australia I jumped in happiness, she is quite a nice singer and charming performer, no doubt. The song is modern, nice, but not a killer song, still I think one of the two main contenders to win. I trust in a very unforgettable performance in Stockholm and may be it wont' win because many conservative still see Australia like a intruder in a European-exclusive party. Shame on this.

My word, Australia really want to win this thing, and with this song the might very well do it. Dami Im can really belt a tune out and she is also great live so I expect this to do really really well

After getting excited upon hearing Dami would be in Stockholm , the entry has left me pretty disappointed. The chorus is far too repetitive, as if the lyricist just lost the will. It's a pretty slick entry regardless, and she knows how to turn it on for the crowd (and TV audience) but this left me underwhelmed.

Brilliant choice Australia ! Great and fantastic song and the voice of the singer is great.  Dami Im is a serious contender that's for sure in my opinion.

That's a very good quality entry again from Australia , they surely take Eurovision very seriously. Dami Im has a great voice and that is just my type og music. Let's hope she does not mess it up live. Probably another great result for Australia this year.

Again a ballad, and quite boring singing " Sound of silence! a 1000 times, BUT WHAT A VOICE !!! OMG  top 10 I guess !

Mega-mighty Delta Goodrem isn't in the event this year, but they did an incredible job anyway. Fantastic classy entry, far away from the same cheap'n'tawdry songs trend. Superb vocals, incredible and rousing melodies. Terrific, perfect modern pop. She could be the real Diva of 2016. Well done OZ !

Much better than last year. Not as classic as SOUND OF SILENCE from Simon and Garfunkel but she has a powerful voice and the song is sort of capturing your attention. Interesting that the video shows another shirtless guy floating around, so they want to make sure to capture the attention. I laughed reading someone’s comment that for a song about silence, this is quite loud. Pity she did not add some line in Korean...

A haunting, modern ballad with an excellent, memorable hook. Absolutely love this

Putting my belief that Australia should not be in this contest aside, what they have come up with is excellent (apart from the reference to Facetime © which will surely have to be removed?). Contemporary song that will sail into the final and should end up very near to the top of the scoreboard!

Another quality pop song, this is very good and should do well, however i think there is one or two songs in the contest slightly better, but i think this one is another one for the running

Pure perfection. I wanted Dami Im for Eurovision and I got my wish. This is my favourite song of the year so far.

10

Danny

Now this is what I am talking about! Classy, cool, contemporary and something that could be a massive hit outside of Eurovision. I've no doubt that Dami is going to sell the shit out of this and I think the jury are going to love this. It remains to be seen whether the televoters will feel the same, but this is definitely a top five song, at least! Bravo!

A song of two halves really - an interesting verse followed by a predictable chorus. In the context of this year's contest though, it's Ivor Novello award-winning. Sturdy, dependable and destined for the final and the top ten. I'm looking forward to Dami's live performance which will hopefully give the song the edge over many of the others.

I’ve been a big Dami fan since she won X Factor so I was excited to hear this, and it doesn’t disappoint. Not as instant as Guy’s debut entry for them last year, but this girl can sing, and the song is powerful, relevant and she’ll perform the sock off it in Stockholm .

I loved Australia 's debut entry. This isn't quite in the same league for me. Yes, it's good and improves on repeated listenings. But we have a lot of female midtempo, serious songs this year. It'll be interesting to see which shine through. This will probably be one of them.

Aussie's pull it out of the bag again. Top tune - very Sia-esque! I think it will be liked across the board. I'm hoping for a be stage show. Great tune. Sydney 2017?

Dami seems to have a very powerful voice and this song has a spot-on modern style. I like the AU attitude to the Contest and wish the UK had a similar take on it. One of the better female solo efforts this year but will Europe vote them out of the semi finals?

7

Joe

Ooh I like this, it's a great song and I have a feeling she will sing this really well in Stockholm . It's not quite as classy as Czech Republic for me though, which is a similar but stronger song.

8

Mark M

Amazing singer and a really interesting song.  I think it's lacking a bit of a lift to be in the running for to win the whole thing, but it's another excellent effort from Australia .

9

Martin

Well, Australia are definitely in it to get a respectable placing, but this will not win Eurovision.  Dami can definitely sing (she's vocally superb, an amazing range) or that the song isn't lyrically interesting (it tells a great story), 'Sound Of Silence' just lacks that spark to be a winner.

Matt

A fabulous singer and I whilst I do like this a lot, I would like to like it much more - but something is stopping me.  Perhaps because it sounds a little repetitive?  The main strength is her sheer power which I hope will be spot on come May.

Nico

For me it's a case of quit while you're ahead. Loved last year's "one time only"  special entry, but this does nothing for me. Great singer, decent song, but nothing about it feels fresh or new. Really can't see what everyone is raving about. Just another wailer I could happily live without.

Sally-Ann

A second consecutive talent show winner for Oz and a second truly class act.  A real power ballad with some very thoughtful lyrics, and I wish Dami well in her quest to put Down Under on top.

6.5

Tristán

This is a nice sung tune, great potential, though probably could do with a little more variation and definitely a key-change. I can't see this finishing top 10 and may even have trouble making the final, but a lot will depend on the running order I guess.
