I actually really appreciate this for being so different. I like that they mixed modern and traditional elements into this entry, but I don't know how well that will come across on stage.

OMG.That is really bad from this country.I think for the first time Greece qualifying chances are at risk. The song is different but not in a good way. It has almost nothing that it makes a joy to listen.I am just stunned how bad this is.Sorry Greece for me this is 1.

Emetic, intertwined, vile, despicable, vintage, fake, boring, digusting… I am shamed for our participation this year.

Everyone needs a guilty pleasure and Greece is most likely to be mine. Music is good, I like folklore sound. But both female and male voices are out of place… But it sounds freaky in a good way.

This will be performed in Greek, English and the Pontian dialect and is definitely something different to Greece 's pop entries. Indeed it is their most ethnically flavoured song for some time. This has a positive / optimistic message about people coming together to find their land of utopia starts promisingly enough but it soon becomes a messy mix of modern hip hop, rap, folklore and traditional instruments such as the lyre.I fear they could struggle with this highly experimental piece of music.

I'm torn... I absolutely love the traditional, instrumental parts, but the modern rap and 90's singing, not so much. It's not bad, but it's not good either.

4

Frederico

erm... not sure about this. It is the kind of song I'd love to love and I am really trying to but to no avail. There are some interesting parts but as a whole I don't think it works.

Eurovision is a moment to forget about the reality of the world, so a song that describes the sad reality of many people in Greece, is like when in a party everybody is having smiles, dancing and someone start talking about hospitals, funerals, pills, aches and pains. Besides that the musicality of the song is very disturbing.

This is the worst greek entry for many years. Of course it will get 12 points from Cyprus but I struggle to see it making the final.

3

Melissa

Well the first 30 seconds were promising, but then it just descends into one hot mess of a 'song.' The worst mixing I think I've ever heard in the contest. Definite toilet break material.

This isn't all that bad. I like the instrumental and the Pontic Greek parts are the best, but then that annoying rap part awfully. Voices are weak even in studio, so I'm not positive at all for the live performance.

I liked the intro and the woman singing until the hip-hop bit started, and could not stand it ! The rest of the song is really messy, but of course that is probably what they looked for with that song and all it represent. Not a bad song but certainly not a winner.

I don´t like rap !!! Boring ! I had hoped for something better from Greece . Sounds like a political song ....

Interesting entry from the Land of the Light. Generally, I don't like hip-hop or even forced musical contaminations, but this song has something strong, especially the Pontic Greek language and the marked ethno sounds. Like "Face the shadow" last year, it has its own potential, but it may be considered as messy or fuzzy by many.

I love the title UTOPIA LAND but the song title is 1000% better than the song. The video does not want me to go to this UTOPIA land, I want it to be in colour and not someone who seems to be running away from it. Maybe if it is staged special in Stockholm , it will be great but now the song does nothing for me and I do not feel I want to hear it again.

There are elements in this that I like (traditional instrumentation, the usage of rap), but the chorus just feels trite to me, and the song doesn't really build to a climax. Meh.

I love it when a song reflects the local taste but most Greek music is so much better than this. Truly awful but sadly almost certain to qualify. Is this some sort of political statement about a Golden Dawn of a Utopian Land ?

Worst Greek entry since a few years, I don`t like it and i doubt this will be the first time Greece dosen`t qualify, this song is boring and theres far much better songs in the contest,

Hot mess. Greece 's worst entry since 2002. I'll give it a couple of points for authenticity.

2

Danny

I feel that Greece have lost their way in Eurovision recently and this does nothing to stem that thought. The production sounds cheap and the whole thing sounds rather disjointed, the flow between the rap and the weak chorus is very disjointed. I am sure this will qualify due to it being the Greek entry but it’s probably the weakest thing they have sent since 2002. Disappointing.

I was really looking forward to this - which makes the disappointment all the more great. 'Dance with us and have some fun' - to this plodding nonsense. Oh look, here's a Greek rapper and then it's back to the joyless chorus. Could this be the year when  Greece fails to qualify? It seems that way at the moment.

I didn’t think there was anything that I would detest more than the Montenegrin entry this year. I was wrong… VERY wrong. This is truly horrid. Perhaps one of the worst songs ever committed to record. No

Can Greece qualify with this? For me it's one of their weakest entries of the 21st Century. Meandering and with a lacklustre melody, this is disappointing.

Great to see Greece going back to some ethnic roots. Great track - not a winner but will be a crowd pleaser.

Was hoping for Mathema Solfege from this group and I get Diri Diri… Love the intro, but the rest of it makes me feel like Greece isn’t in the Contest (despite use of the greek language). A very strange choice which doesn’t really go anywhere. I’m sad for the Greek fans who deserve better. Could they lose their qualifying record this year?

This has no redeeming features at all. It's deeply unpleasant

Really don't like this.  Greek rap?  And not a great melody when we do get some sung lyrics.  One of the weakest from Greece in years.

2

Martin

Trust the Greeks to keep the torch of ethnic musicality alive at Eurovision!  The main surprise with ' Utopian Land ' is that there is Greek rap within it and I can barely believe I am saying this...the genre works perfectly and sounds superb.  Reliable Greece to continue their Final qualification success...

7

Matt

Now, if this stopped after the first few seconds of the intro this would be one of my favourites.  No doubt it has a message but sadly the song just dissolves into a mess.  I guess it is a C - has potential but could be better.

3

Nico

They've come up trumps since 2004 and always qualified on merit, so it's kind of them to deliberately give up their spot in the final this year. I very much enjoy the Pontiac music style, but within seconds of the infantile English lyric beginning you just know this is going in a direction that's not going to be good, and alas it doesn't recover. It's not quite the ultimate embarrassment of Clown, there is effort here, and it does have one redeeming feature; it makes you feel happy, happy when it's over.

Sally-Ann

In a sea of bland mediocrity a slice of ethnicity is more than welcome.  A curious mix of styles and most definitely not a winner, but interesting to see Greece taking a very different sort of rap this year.

4

Tristán

Love the ethnic music, the English lyrics are a bit naff but the hip hop works well and on the whole this is a welcome bit of diversity. I have a feeling though that this may not qualify (which will really shock Greece ). This is my guilty pleasure, however.
