Wow! I am truly taken somewhere else when I listen to this. So unique and beautiful (both lyrically and vocally), but it still remains modern and contemporary! I have no doubts that this will shine on stage. We may be looking at Croatia 's best placing ever!

I don't understand the hype around this one. This is nice and good but definitely not a top 3 contender. It will be a borderline qualifier, because the song is not memorable enough and doesn't have a huge impact. I just do not think it will do so well how people think.

The return of Croatia is a fact and I am so satisfied about it and perhaps I wanted something more from this beloved country. The talent's show winner undertakes to represent the country but maybe is not good enough for the Croatians especially to the Eurovision lovers. The song is titled "the lighthouse" but the light is faded ..... Good effort but the result MEDIUM

Her voice and interpretation of the song reminds me of Icelandic music. But arrangement is more Croatian. Mysterious atmosphere along with Nina’s unique voice and “nature-inspired” lyrics make this entry special.

'The song representing Croatia has the same composers as the AT 2013 ('Shine'). Nina's voice is very reminiscent of The Cranberries Dolores and indeed this composition sounds very Irish. 'Lighthouse' contains a key change and a combination of relatively modern sounds and ethno. This is very atmospheric, ethereal and spiritual but it does take a while to get going. Winner ? Probably not but Croatia deserve to be in the final with this message of hope.

Another not to exciting song, but it's charming some how. I like the slightly ethnic influences and even though the singers english is not perfect, it's charming in a Bjork kind of way. Her voice is also very pretty.

This is a pretty decent attempt at Eurovision though I don't predict it doing very well. I think this is the kind of song that really will depend on her performance on the night as well as on the staging. We can not stay it has oomph or that it is memorable at first listen but has all the makings of a grower.

For me Croatia was so powerful in the 90's and very weak in this century. Well this is a really happy return. I welcome this celtic sound coming to refresh the balkanic sound. And Nina is perhaps the most powerful vocal performer of this year, wow what a voice.

This song has a feel of the Cranberries about it and for me that is a great thing! I really like it and hope it does really well.

This is a great entry from Croatia - just 'pop' enough to appeal to everyone, but still with a slight yet distinct Balkan sound.

Octavio

It's a good song, the chorus is quite catchy and her voice sounds lovely. Really they need a cool staging.

A very pleasant come back from Croatia with this song. Nina's voice sounds great, the music is good (sounds very Irish to me), and if she performs well on stage, Croatia could reach a very good result.

Well no no ....I listen and forget in a moment. It´s not bad, but simply just something that comes and goes ......

Roberto

Another average song. Even if it's a modern ballad, with some nice ethno recalls, it seems not so sightly, rather hasty. It doesn't impress me much.

Well, LIGHTHOUSE is there as a group and now we have it as a song as well. Croatia was my number one when they last took part (2013) but this is not as good. It is an easy on the ear song and there is nothing to hate, but it is also not 100% my style but it may grow more on me closer to Stockholm . I am anyway very happy they are back.

Nice little bit of indie-pop, with Nina's unique voice lilting and floating above it. I like the drumming and the hint of Balkan flair...nice to have them return with a strong entry.

There seems to be a lot of interest in the song that welcomes Croatia back to the contest, particularly in the bookies odds. Whilst it is great to have Hrvatska back I just don't see this up against the quality from Serbia , Australia and Azerbaijan .

Different and ethnic, it`s rather nice, good voice but i must admit gets a little boring in the middle, this should stick out a bit from all the male solo singers and the uptempo numbers, should qualify,

6

Daniel

This is unexpected! Croatia have returned with something very, very good! I think this could have mass appeal and pick up points far and wide.

7

Danny

This is a really nice mid-tempo track which is very Ellie Goulding/Zara Larsson in style but still having some Balkan touches to it. I love her voice, and I think the contest has been missing something like this and I think this is likely to see Croatia in the final again and I think could give them their best result in years!

David B

There's a hint of 'Kate Bush concept album' about this song. It's all very pleasant and ambles along entertainingly without really achieving much. I'm hoping that her voice stays on the right side of 'shrill' come the big night.

Contemporary and art-housey. Very memorable return for Croatia and surely a certain qualifier. I like this a lot!

8

Dean

Very "Ellie Golding meets recent German entries".  This is perfectly pleasant, and I look forward to seeing it on stage.  Another serious, 'modern' entry.  Should qualify but mid table in the final.

Wow, a really refreshing entry from Croatia - great to have you back. I love the production and i does have a great feel. I am sure it will have a great stage show. Lovely voice.

8

Gary

Unremarkable. A simple song, with a sweet voiced singer, but nothing to grab hold of, or to excite me. Sorry Croatia – great to see you back, but must try harder.

4

Joe

This is very good indeed. The vocal is great and is reminiscent of delores o'riorden and If the live vocals are strong this could do very well.

9.5

Mark M

I'm getting a bit of an Ellie Goulding vibe to this song.  But perhaps less annoying than Ellie.  A fan favourite key change should go down a storm.  Decent enough song - not a winner - but   one of the stronger ex-Yugoslav entries this year.

6

Martin

Hauntingly mesmerising lyrics combined with Nina's distinctive vocals should make Croatia 's return to Eurovision a happy one.  This lacks a 'wow moment' to make it a contender for the top five but the Balkan influence that runs throughout 'Lighthouse' should give Nina passage to her country's first Final since 2009.

7.5

Matt

I like this one - atmospheric, gentle but uplifting.  It has a 'movie theme' quality about it.  She sings well and with emotion too.  Good return and welcome back.  This really should qualify.

8

Nico

In a somewhat humdrum and murky year Lighthouse glows comfortingly with warm beauty. The soothing melody and refined lyric wash gently over you in waves of pleasure. Miss Kraljic's siren like alluring vocals are tinged with Balkan heart that make this not just a shining three minutes, but truly divine.  If it weren't for the somewhat cliché key change, which nonetheless works, this song would be perfection. Welcome back Croatia .

Lovely atmospheric number sung so distinctively, bringing early Duffy to mind.  One of the nicest ballads of 2016 and a definite qualifier.

5

Tristán

I love Nina's voice, it's a bit Ellie Goulding and this is one of my favourite songs this year. It's probably the most on trend song this year, and I think it could be a real dark horse. Could equally top the charts across Europe . Soothing and rallying at the same time. Top 5 surely.
