Everything about this is great! Awesome vocals and a very memorable and contemporary song. Easily my favorite Hungarian entry ever!

Hungary is getting out the big guns again. The process of the A Dal it is starting to have effect. This year Hungary is trying with again another style. This song reminds me to Aram Mp3 from 2014 which is not to good though.Still I think this song is a sure qualifier and Hungary is going to the final once again. The singer has charisma and his voice is special but the staging needs work.

Very good looking singer with a very unique voice and stage presence. Hungary is capable of the best and the worst, simply enough with the appearance, this is a song festival and not Mr Universe . I am sure it will  qualify for the final but this is not Eurovision  I am very sorry ...

I like that every year Hungry is represented by different music styles. I like this powerful song, I like the performance, I like the whole package. Just something is missing so minus 0.5

It is a fairly safe bet that Hungary will make the final but how well it does there depends on a few factors. Freddie with his uniquely smoky voice is very talented but his performance reminds me of those first time X-Factor auditions in which you can sense the participant's potential but not their professionalism. His presentation needs a major revamp if he wants to make the cut and pay attention to his diction as it is difficult to understand him during parts of the song. There are similarities with Aram MP3's 'Not Alone' here. Top 10? Possible.

I usually like a harsh voice like this, but it doesn't fit the song. But I still like it. The song is a bit non-saying but the chorus really explodes at you. The whistling made me laugh. Nothing bad about that!

Frederico

The song is quite ok and has a certain je ne sais quoi however I do not like his voice and looks are (hopefully) not everything.

Nice enough song, I really enjoy the voice of Freddy, however he will present himself on Stockholm with the same look of a next door guy? too little glamour Freddy!

8

Mark L

This song is great, If i was however to make one criticism it would be that Freddie tends to shout the song out rather than sing it. It will do well though and will be surprised if it is not top 5

This is AMAZING! Budapest 2017!!! Great song with great build up, awesome performer with a gorgeous voice. I can't fault this. The first song that I've heard that has screamed ""WINNER!"

Octavio

It is a really good contemporary pop song and I feel like Hungary has great chances this year with Freddie. He needs to improve his visual communication with camera.

I like this one. Freddie looks good on stage, very good voice, good staging and I like the whistling parts. It has potential and Hungary could get another good result this year.

Pia

I like the drums, and there it ends ....no music no melody blaaaah.Quite good performance though.

Roberto

Nice and interesting song. The singer has an incredible stage presence, a hoarse and rough voice that involves in the right way. A different ballad, quite original, appreciable and pleasant.   Hungary will be in the Grand Final and in the Top 10 for sure.

I like the title PIONEER and it is a ONE WORD title. I have not seen the other songs in Hungary but this is quite good and dramatic and potentially this could do well (even win). It has all the right elements for me except one, the singer voice. It is not very clear and I struggled to hear much of the lyrics – he may as well have sung in Hungarian. Well, last year we had a HERO, we could have a PIONEER this year.

It took me a few listens to get into "Pioneer", but once I did, it really stuck. Freddie's got a unique voice, and anthemic songs tend to do well recently. This could be one to watch in Stokholm.

I'm very disappointed with this choice by Hungary after such a long search. On the positive side he is eye candy but his voice really grates on me and I don't think the song has any impact.

This should do well, it`s a good pop song, I quite like it, good voice too, this to definitely qualify, quality song.

Daniel

I loved "Pioneer" from the moment I first heard it. Could Hungary win with this?! Anthemic. Good looking singer...

Freddie is a good looking guy which is sure to get votes, though his vocals need a fair bit of improvement. The song is fine, and good enough for them to qualify, but it’s not one of my favourites.

I think 'fun' left the Hungarian building many moons ago. Another downbeat performance this year but he really does perform the life out of this one! Catchy in a miserable kind of way. Hungary sailing into another final!

7

David E

Wow!  This is a great track, and delivered with such convincing power and emotion.  The fact that Freddie is as stunning as he is will win him votes by the bucketload alone, so just as well his song is top-notch too!  This deserves to be Top 5.

9

Dean

Another very serious sounding song. Freddie can certainly sing but the song does nothing for me.

5

Eddie

Landing planes? Great voice, very real. Like the song and it is a finalist for sure. Don't think it's a winner and it does have a
certain Mans feel about it but should do well.

I’ve been waiting for this – the song that mesmerises me (as Mĺns says it should). Perfect pop, modern, anthemic, powerful, rousing. They have got this one spot on. Great singer too..! Budapest 2017 anyone?

Joe

Yeah, not feeling this one at all I'm afraid. I don't like his voice, I don't like the song and I can't think of anything positive to say. Just not for me, I can see others going for this though...

Love this and it helps that he looks like he does. Hungary are really getting good at this Eurovision lark.

9

Martin

His vocal tone sounding initially like Roberto Bellarosa notwithstanding, Freddie has got an intriguing song here.  'Pioneer' builds nicely, has a powerful chorus and thoughtful lyrics which, along with the backing whistling and his distinctive vocals, keeps you listening.  Vertical Chinese drums have been jinxing many acts at Eurovision though...

The love child of Bonnie and Brian with that voice?  Oh it irritates me!  But blocking that out it is quite a good song - an anthemic type which usually do well.  But that gravelly voice... I hope the sore throat is gone by May!

6

Nico

Freddie stares into the camera, right into your eyes and lets you know he means business; he's on stage to inspire you with his empowering lyric and he's not taking no for an answer. The impure voice adds to the stirring, leaving no doubt this is a serious song. Bravo Hungary , once again you bring us something fresh to the ESC table. Tiny point for improvement, despite excellent English, the diction could do with a little work.

Sally-Ann

This year's eye candy looks like Joe & Jake's big brother and I'm sure this song will feature heavily in the fans' top tens.  It won't be in mine though - tuneless dirge, saved only by the whistle, of which there should be much more.

Tristán

Oh dear, another example where they chose my least favourite of all the songs in the final. I had it 8th out of 8, and disliked it from the start. André Vásáry or Petruska would have been far better choices. This may well end up my bottom song in Stockholm .
