I have a soft spot for Italian entries, and this is no exception. Francesca is very likable, and I think her ballad could look very nice on stage. A very pleasant entry!

This song is very Italian and for that I like it. The girl has some kind of weird uniqueness, and she is memorable. The whole song is very good.It is and underdog one of the black horses.Still I think Italy will land around top 10.

E ora Italia.... MY FAVOURITE this year. I loved that song from the very first moment in San Remo . I adore you Italy you are the real music generator and you have placed a big emotion in my heart....indeed there will not be "nessun grado di separazione tra te e me"..No english please on stage... You are the music you have the passion...Passione Mediterranea...TI AMO TI AMO TI AMO... Even If Russia is the winner this year you are the queen of my heart ...

Very Italian, very good quality. Russian people like this type of Italian music very much and I'm not an exception.

'This is classy, relaxing, delicate and sophisticated with some very beautiful and profound lyrics. The mix of Italian and English work very well making the song more accessible with one chorus in English whilst maintaining the beauty of the original language. Francesca's vocals during San Remo were shaky and she looked a little scared so there is still some work to be done there. As lovely as this is I worry it may become lost in a sea of bigger and more powerful songs as it takes more than one listen to fully appreciate it.

This is beautiful. A bit 90's sounding in the chorus, seems like a trend this year but I like it. I love her voice and italian is such a beautiful language, especially for songs like this.

Sounds like Francesca is a Laura Pausini wannabe but she's far from getting there. It is however a pleasant enough song but sounds lazy lazy. There is nothing special about this. It's fine.

I love balads, but I believe Italy abusses, San Remo was full of songs that sound the same. I'm thinking on the talent and the merit of Francesca, and I strongly believe that she is MUCH better option than the winners. Good luck sweet Francesca and one suggestion for Italy , a electronic Pop would be nice for 2017 :P

This is a great song, very Italian in that it is very stylish, It is right up my street, but previous results indicate that europe doesn’t really get Italian music.

The first time I heard this I initially thought that her voice would be too delicate for Globen's audience, but this just gets better & better with each listen. Whilst I don't think it's Italy 's time just yet, this deserves to do well - it's a gorgeous song that should stand out.

Nice song, perfect choice. she's coming with a classic ballad in a year full of modern songs. She can take advantage of it if she can handle an amazing staging and if she can work on her vocals. Let's hope the new version keeps most of the song's magic, which in any case is mostly in Francesca's voice. I'm sure it will be amazing, she has potential to become a winner I believe and will most probably be the juries favorite. I hope she'll gain more confidence before May.

Italy always sends class act songs and that is no exception. I like that song a lot. Very nice voice. Another good result for Italy I hope.

This is good. Strong voice and singing in own language always get points from me. Top 10?

Francesca Michielin will represent Italy with this classy, elegant, adult-contemporary entry. Nice melodies, down-to-earth lyrics, emotions and refined atmospheres. The young age of the singer makes it very special and admirable, and the final English words won't spoil the song that much

I was reading comments on this from various people before hearing it myself. It is quite a good singer and a song without breaking new ground for me when it comes to my taste. I think it will do fairly well but won’t capture the excitement of Il Volo.

Perfectly sweet and honest...it might not have the oomph of Il Volo or Emma Marrone, but sometimes simple and delicate works!

Very pretty. All the style and panache I'd expect from an Italian entry but possibly just a little too parochial and inaccessible for the rest of Europe . Hope this does well nonetheless.

I think I have heard my winner so far, for me this is far from the best from the rest, it`s on another level, quality and a good simple song, i really hope this dose well, in my opinion it should win! love the Italian language!

Beautiful. Italy have got it right once again. Will it be long before we see another Italian victory? I for one would love to to Eurovision in Italy !

This is a really beautiful song with really understated production and I think Francesca is a very appealing performer. It’s quite the change from last year’s very OTT performance from Il Volo. I don’t quite think it will give them as good a result but I think they don’t need to worry about another Emma Marone result. My favourite entry of theirs since they’ve come back by a million miles.

I really like this and in true Italian style, it's all very wordy and hopefully she won't succumb to an English version. Maybe not instantaneous enough to win but I'm a sucker for an easy melody. Rather lovely.

Ooh!  I absolutely LOVE this!  Moody Italian ballads have never been a strong favourite of mine, and I think this may well be a Marmite song, but with around a quarter of the songs now picked this is the one that sits at the top of the pile for me.

Dean

This is beautiful and gets better with every listen. Definitely one of the best female sung songs of the contest. Top 10 surely.

Great feel to the song and she's a lovely singer! A dark horse for me.

Have Italy done it again? This is pure class. It washes over me like honey. Yes, yes yes… It’s not Il Volo (can anything ever be?!) but this deserves similar attention and success. Go Italy – you’re setting the standard again..!

Joe

This leaves me a little flat. It's nice enough but no hook to keep me interested.

I was really hoping Italy would keep this song - absolutely adore it. Probably too 'good' to win Eurovision but hopefully it will do well.

Respect due to Italy for hanging onto their native tongue and to Francesca for giving a very heartfelt vocal during this traditional ballad but it doesn't grip me at all and i lost interest as the song trundled along.  This might end up being Italy 's worst placing since their 2011 return...

Matt

As a song this one is class.  However, class it may be but it didn't really get going and is very 'middling'.  It'll be interesting to see how the shortened and bilingual version will sound.

5

Nico

Having now heard a 3 minute "bilingual" version, I'm relieved only the minimal amount of English has been added to not completely destroy the song, but just give the casual listener an idea of what the more melodious Italian lyric is about. Great singer, good song, but will need more presence on the Stockoholm stage than she had at San Remo if it's not to get lost.

Sally-Ann

A slice of pure Italiano is always welcome among so much English, but this potentially lovely song promises more than it delivers, with a chorus too monotone to really deliver a punch.  Still, one of the nicest ballads this year.

So, after about 25 hours of interminable chit-chat interspersed with the odd song, Stadio turned the ESC down so it looks as though Francesca Michielin will represent with (possibly) this song which is very repetitive and I suspect will end mid-table at best unless they liven it up a bit.
