Latvia has been upping its game recently! A very solid and modern entry. It's not as unique as Love Injected, but this song is very easy on the ears and can perform very well on a larger stage!

Latvia has chosen something different still it is a reminding me of last years Latvia 's entry. I do not get the hype around this song. I think it is a   borderline qualifier and a contender for the bottom of the scoreboard.

Sorry sweetie, but here is no Burkina Fassa but Europe and some things are not easily forgotten. Emotions plus electronic music is a good combination. Of course it’s not underground techno music, but a very good pop interpretation. I expect Latvia to deliver a unforgettable performance as last year.

'Heartbeat', penned by Aminata Savadogo doesn't stray too far away from 'Love Injected' but it is still different enough to make it original. Justs has a great voice and this song is modern and edgy with raw emotion and deep beats but it doesn't move me. What sells once (6th place last year in Vienna ) does not necessarily sell twice ...

I don't understand what he's trying to do. It's like an "almost uptempo" love song with some weird club music sounds in the background. He has a good voice though.

For some reason fans are going crazy for this song. I don’t understand why. It is definitely not a song at the level of Aminata. I don’t like it. Not the song. Not the voice. Not the slight awkwardness of it all.

Well done Latvia , after a period of awful songs, the last 2 entries are very competitive. Justs really have the potential to equalize the result of Aminata.

I'm in love with this! Love the arrangement, love Justs' vocals, brilliant performance. The sound is very Röyksopp, who I love. Not typical Europop, which make me love it even more. I can't wait until May when we see how this looks on stage - there's so much potential!

Latvia continues with modern-pop sounds. A peculiar ballad with a rather fine atmosphere, that makes it smart and pander enough. The more you listen to it, the more you can like it. Agreeable.

Latvia is one of my favourite countries. I am maybe going to be in a minority, but I cannot see why so many rave about this song. I find the song has almost no melody. It is similar to me as last year, again I was in a minority but it did well so probably this song could end top 5. If it is a winner, well, the jury is out on that but I for one will like to go to Latvia again, so they can win even if the song is not so special.

Well it took me a good two minutes to stop laughing at his Princess Diana hairdo so I reloaded the song and listened again. This manages to be moody yet catchy and all topped off with a decent vocal. Fingers crossed though that he gets the look/staging sorted out because parading around in his mum's old leather jacket isn't what winning performances are made of.

Stunning song, superb vocals.  Current, relevant, edgy.  If Latvia finished 5th with that horrendous thing written and performed by the same writer last year, then this fully deserves to romp home to a comfortable victory in May.  I can actually see this winning in spectacular Rybak style!

I don’t know if this takes me back to 90s clubbing or if it’s awoken something new for me, but hey I love this and I hope it does well for them. Something away from the Loreen wanabees and cheap scandi-melodies. Eurovision moves on… Count me in! I really did not like Aminata’s song last year so I’m amazed she has come up with this. Good job!

More Nordic electropop. Yay. I like this. Rather a lot in fact. Latvia have upped their game in recent years and could be rewarded with a top 5 finish this year. Hurrah!

Don't believe the hype - this is NOT the runaway winner of Eurovision 2016.  However, 'Heartbeat' is lyrically superb, the music hypnotic, heavily influenced by Aminata's touch.  Justs has an amazing voice and looks the part but his emotional delivery is very OTT.  Another 6th place wouldn't surprise me though.

I guess this sounds 'retro-mod' and I'm sure this will be a big hit and will do very well.  Not my cup of tea (again!) but not horrendous, although his voice is yet another that grates.  This will get the audience dancing but last year's was more powerful.

This sound like it's from the Aminata stable of music. It's a cool song, with a great singer, but just doesn't captivate in the same way to repeat last year's triumphant result. The second semi is shaping up to be the easier of the two though, so it may just qualify.

They're raving about this one all over Europe , but it gave me 90's flashbacks, personally.  If discotheques still exist, this one will fill them, but am not convinced it will fill the scoreboard.

At last, my favorite won, for the first time this year in a national final. Aminata was my favourite last year, so not surprising I love this, though not as much as Latvia 2015. Very sexy beat, and so far the best song chosen. May need to dust off the Latvian flag again. Very current, very enjoyable.
