Another good song that will get lost in the mix. This strikes me as a song that might catch the attention of the juries; however, I can't see this performing well with the public. Sweet and melodic but not stand out.

Beautiful song and singer and it is quality. The only problem is that is the same recipe like last year. With the background of this country and surrounded by ballads this will not be able to stand out enough to get trough. Still I like the song and it is a quality entry.

I think that this is the best ballad of the songs so far in the Eurovision song contest 2017. Czechs have realized that the Contest is more than important to promote his artists through Europe and not only. The singer is a praise performer mostly in Germany but for sure she will be more than known in the near future… all over the World. I wonder why Slovakia is still absent of the contest watching their neighbours sending amazing songs at the contest…

Yet another ballad, but a good one. I prefer this type of “old school” ballads in which you can feel the emotions through voice and musical instruments. Martina’s voice is amazing.

'My Turn' is certainly a song of quality. Jazzy but not quite jazz in an attempt to be accessible to both juries and televoters. Martina has a good voice but needs to work on her accent. Dreamy and pretty, it flows smoothly and tenderly but my fear is that it isn't engaging enough to make people want to vote for it. A stunning performance could change that though. The Czech Republic will perhaps find more favour with the juries, however with some televotes (remember Gabriela's 'I Stand' scored 0 in the televote last year) it may just squeak through but it will be a very close call.

I think this is a nice piano bar -ballad. I like the depth in the singers voice and even though it is one of many love songs it feels a little different with a little more attitude. This feels different from previous entries from CZ, and it's a good kind of different.

A very nice ballad but doesn’t bring anything particularly interesting or memorable so I think it is very unlikely it will qualify. Pleasant.

I'm worried. If last year popular vote gave such an unfair zero to Czech Republic in the final, I don't see them giving more points to Martina. Her voice is a real delight, and the lyrics are a tribute to real love, that one that doesn't ends as time goes by.

A nice song, sung by a good singer, should make the final without a doubt but I think it may struggle when it gets there

Martina has a lovely voice, but unfortunately the song is nothing special. It's okay but pretty inoffensive and bland. After the last 2 years of awesome entries, this is the first from the nation that I didn't really like.

Beautiful song. I actually like it, cute and classy song, yeah it's of course another ballad, but it sounds gospelly to me and has a certain rhythm to it.

7

An average to good song, Martina has a pleasant voice is just that I do not see that song very strong and it could well stay in the semi finals.

I´m tired to listen to all these ballads, I want something new

This mid-tempo power pop-ballad reminds me a bit the melodies and the suggestions (but not the lyrics, of course) of Daniel Powter's megahit "Bad day". A moderate groove accompanied by a piano, suggestive but not so punchy, interesting but not so striking. Overall good.

I do not think it will be their turn this year to do well. Like so many songs this year, the song is not bad, but it is not good. Most of the songs by female singers this year could have represented any country in Eurovision, it does not sound like it is something of the country it is representing. But maybe that is how they think they will get votes from everywhere.

When I heard that the Czechs were sending a jazz singer, I was hoping for more than just another simple ballad. It doesn't build, lacks drama...I wanted to like this so much more than I do.

This is very sweet, my best entry from this country, i think this is very nice song, and it is different, has a nice tune, like the piano, deserves a final position

I loved the Czech entry last year and I was ecstatic to see them in the final. This year, they've gone down the ballad route again, but this one is a bit more understated, and I think it's probably not memorable enough to do anything. It's really nice, but it's just a bit too forgettable, which is a shame, and I can't see them getting out of the semifinal.

David B

Another ballad to add to the 2017 stockpile but thankfully this one isn't another one from the 'shouting woman in a gown' collection. It's all very easy listening, meandering and charming. Not a winner, maybe not even a finalist but I like it.

Not so much “my turn” as “My turgid attempt at something that should be a lot better then it actually is”.  I can barely get to the end of this one without losing the will to exist… Triumphantly boring

Probably one of the better female ballads.  Marta has a good voice and this may make its way into the final.  But do I want to listen to it again? Not really.

6.5

Eddie

Lovely voice and it's a nice song. But that's it - nice. It doesn't build and no real hook. I don't hear a finalist here but the performance may change things.

5

Edward

A “yawn fest” I’m afraid.  The theme is suitably uplifting and the recording good, but it feels like background music and I am not sure anyone will remember it for long enough to vote for it!  It could be rescued by staging if the performance gets across a strong message.

5

Gary

More than most of the ballads this year, this has an American Idol feel to it. Apparently written by a British team, which is a shame. Polished indeed and safe in structure. Impressed with the voice, shame about the song.

6

Joe

It's nice enough but not overly exciting. Nothing to dislike about it

This year’s entry for the Czech Republic has been organised by the Czech broadcaster Česká televize. Martina Barta will be the artist, and My Turn will be the song… Jazz singer Martina delivers a soulful vocal; dull in places, but with meaning and passion which makes it interesting entry, one to watch out for

6

Lloyd

Nice song, easy listening, forgettable.

5.5

Mark M

Incredibly dull song with no real hook.  If last year's entry scored zero in the televote then this has absolutely no chance of getting anywhere near the final.

2

Martin

The jazz pedigree from Martina is obvious here but in a year with numerous solo female vocalists singing ballads, "My Turn" doesn't stand out in any way and is likely to condemn Czechia to yet another SF exit after their first Final appearance.  A nice interlude for listeners to do something else...

5

Matt

A nice song with a nice singer although that's the problem, its just 'nice'.  Still, I have the feeling it'll work well live and glad that the Czech Republic have another good attempt this year.

6

Nico

I kinda like this, it's inoffensive, but completely unmemorable. There's no real kick to it, just plods along pleasantly. Alas, Czechia is not Poland , so I can't see this qualifying at all. Again, great artist, wrong song.

4

Sally-Ann

Gosh, this sounds a familiar refrain!  A very nice ballad sung with passion Martina and while I would love to see the Czechs qualify I fear this one just doesn't stand out enough in a crowded field of slow songs.
