I must admit, this song is a bit generic, but it really sticks with me! Anja has great stage presence and she owns this contemporary and radio-friendly song. Denmark definitely made the right choice.

This song is very average and heard it before stile. The singer can sing although sometime her vocals are scratchy. Her stage presence is great but the stage needs improvement to have a chance to qualify.

The Australian Anja will sing for Denmark and the12 points will be launched directly from Sydney to Copenhagen . I have to confess that the song is pretty different from the solid Danish entries of the past. Some people say that ... we have a winner but I think it is just conjectures... The only thing I know for sure is that the red-white flag will fly on the stage on the final night.

Nothing special but I like this simple sound with proper pop chorus, and Anja’s voice is very enjoyable. And I like that it’s mid tempo song and not a ballad.

The Danes were desperate to find a song that would break the curse of the past 2 years and restore some national pride. Anja, winner of The Voice in Australia (2014) and runner-up in last years DMGP will take her mid-tempo ballad 'Where I Am' to Kyiv. This was their safest hope and best overall package (a strong pop sound and powerhouse vocals) although prior to seeing the live performances I preferred Ida Una's 'One' and some work does need to be done with the staging. This will in all likelihood be performed again on the Saturday but it isn't a winner. Anja can look forward to support from AU.

The verses are very 90's RnB, I like that.  The chorus on the other hand screams scandinavian ESC, and it's not bad but I've heard it so many times before it's uninteresting.  Anja has a great voice though and amazing presence on stage.

This is relatively pleasant, and I think it is a grower. On first listen though it’s fine enough. Rather repetitive and Anja’s voice his rather grating.

I think everything is arranged so Denmark after 3 years of awful representatives and 2 years in semifinal. Anja is a great performed, an even when this is yet another ballad, this has in Anja charm and vocal performance, and let's say her red dress, some extra merits than the rest.

This is a really lovely song that I think should do well, however I am not sure it has that special thing that will get it into the top five

Anna has a strong voice and looks great on stage, unfortunately this song is so generic that even with the best production and mixing it struggles to hold my attention.

7.5

Octavio

She seems vocally gifted and the song is pretty good but certainly not an upswing. While this entry may be promising enough for a safe qualification, I doubt it will score high.

I actually like this song. A powerful ballad and a nice voice. Not sure it will do well in Ukraine though.

6.5

Pia

Quite good but just ordinary .....somewhere in the middle ......

7

Roberto

Nice song overall, not so bad. Catchy enough but unpretending, at least genuine. A "revenge" for Anja (last year's runner-up) and a pleasant moment for us. We can be satisfied.

Listening to the 10 songs, nothing was a horror but nothing really stood out as a winner. Seeing that the girl who won was second last year, I guess it was logical that she would win this year but the song this year is weaker than last year, but maybe this will scrap into the final. It is listenable.

The saving grace to this somewhat dated r&b-lite entry is Anja's powerhouse vocal work! She makes this look easy, despite the range required to hit those high belts. Average song, great voice.

not bad but a little boring too, dont think it will stick out, might get forgotten about during the show, just might make the final

This reminds me of an early 00s Christina Aguilera track and Anja has a fantastic voice, and gives a very rousing performance of the song. The juries I think will really go for this one and that should be enough ton see Denmark back in the final after two years in the wilderness. Good choice!

The winner of Denmark 's annual Battle of the Bland is the distinctly average Anja. Much better than the previous two Danish entries but her live performance was less than convincing. Not a terrible song but it could easily get overlooked. Pleasingly forgettable.

Watching the final I was reminded of Dami Im in Anja’s performance, both in terms of the song and the terrific vocal. I think this could do very well.

Another example of a singer being better than the song. Anja performs this soulful ballad well, but the song is bland.  I usually love ballads but this year we are drowning in them, and very few are strong. More good pop please!

Great vocalist - loved her song last year but it's too MoR this year. Should see them into the final as she's a really engaging performer but maybe right hand side of scoreboard.

Edward

After last year, Anja deserves this.  She is a consistently strong vocalist and highly likable.  She will be a fan favourite and the Danes will doubtless stage the song effectively.  My issue is that the song is a bit generic.  It’s in the “mid-tempo” zone that can get forgotten easily.

I feel I have heard this before, many times. It just doesn’t stand out for me, but may do amongst the slower ballads. I just find this a bit bland, which is where Danish national finals seem to have headed lately. No guarantee of a final place and no high position from what I have heard so far – leaves me cold.

Just when you think Denmark couldn't get any more bland.... (her song last year was so much better!)

Kevin

21 year old Anja is a Danish-Australian singer songwriter and the winner of the 2017 Melodi Grand Prix, one of the best selection shows in my opinion… Strong vocal arrangement, but falls flat on the stage presentation, with a large percentage of this year’s entries being ballads I feel this may slip through the net!

Anja has such a powerful voice, one of the strongest vocalists selected for ESC 2017 so far. When she sings she brings the song life, think she will do well with the jury's vote. I personal like the song, that has stuck in my head.

Really like this song and the singer.  Again, not the most memorable but it's really melodic and it just hits the right note for me.

8

Martin

Anja has paid her dues after last year's disappointment and now looks comfortable powering out this love song, the lyrics of which she seems to have a passionate connection with.  Unquestionably a singer with a huge vocal range who, with "Where I Am", has an entry she can control emotionally and visually.

7.5

Matt

I often have high hopes for Denmark but.. this is a whole lotta nothing.  Anja has a great voice but the song is just a dull mundane mess that even powerful vocals can't do anything with.  Good artist, bad song.

5

Nico

Another if at first you don't succeed entrant, whose first effort was better, but I do like this. I think it would be even better if Anja calms down a bit and reigns in the vocals, it's a bit shouty at the moment and would be more emotional with greater control, which we know she can do as we know she has a strong voice.

7

Sally-Ann

A disappointing entry from a country that we expect a lot more from.  A standard, bland ballad with no real tune or uplift and it will struggle to qualify.  I much prefer Denmark 's other entry for the UK
