I respect this entry. The song is so different from anything else we've heard. I really appreciate Hungary taking a risk and sending something ethnic. Will it end up in the top 5? No. But it will definitely stand out!

Finally something totally different. This song with the gypsy-hungarian etno vibe is fantastic. It will stand out in a good way. This guy can sing, it has charisma and I like the mystic atmosphere.  The staging needs improvement but overall is a very good song, well written. I even like the rap part. Good job Hungary .

Boring, boring, boring. Ok I agree that this is not a usual kind of a sound but this song cannot claim a place at the top 10. Many fans believe that the Hungarian entry will be this year's big surprise. I totally disagree. The Gipsy culture is not always so welcomed at the contest. We must to remind to the Hungarians that the contest needs strong proposalss and not just the different ones.

This is what I usually listen to, mix of world music with contemporary sounds. And the song is done in a perfect way, I can feel the wer of the world music thanks to the voice of Joci.

'Origo' will in all likelihood be the most polarizing song with a very strong ethnic identity and certainly embracing the theme of Celebrate Diversity. Mystical, captivating and fusing traditional sounds with something modern and unexpected, this is a very intense and fascinating song with both Hungarian and Romani lyrics. The transition from the rap back into song is a bit rough but this can be worked on. Joci's passion cannot be overlooked and a 7th successive appearance in the final is a real possibility for the Hungarians ...8

If it wasn't for the rapping part I'd love this 100%.  I love the rhythm and the melody, I have no idea about the lyrics, but I'm sure they're alright! I'm dancing to this this spring.

While I usually appreciate ethnic sounds in Eurovision entries this just doesn’t do it for me. So repetitive, and I’d skip the rap section. Far too repetitive.

It was not my favorite entry BUT I'm satisfied with the song, it has a exotic mood, that make it original and different to the rest of entries this year. Especially I like the instrumentation. The rap part is kind of "this has nothing to do here"

I absolutely loved this song until he started to rap! however the rapping part was not as bad as it could have been and he pulled it back at the end.

This is quite nice! I'm glad to see the Magyar language back in the contest, and with a bit of ethno-dance pop sure to make themselves stand out from the competition. Normally non-R&B songs with rap featured make me cringe, but this somehow works. I just hope Papai Joci watches his breath!

I absolutely love it!, Finally something different. It has traditional and modern elements,he sings and performs with such a passion, and that dancer is just stunning. It's such an intense and fascinating song, it simply very well done Hungary . I really like the ethnicity of this and the use of a violin is also nice. Also refreshing to see this not being sang in English. I will be excited to see this performed in May.

Something different which I like. Very good ethnic song, I love the sound of instruments. It could be nearly perfect song until the rap part came in, which I frankly hate.

This is really different, so he might get a lot of points, but I still don´t like it. And he could be a little more " alive " on stage .....

Roberto

I'm not impressed of this entry. An ethnic tune, mixed up with a questionable rap moment. I only hear a big muddle, I only see an untidy performance. They have to refresh it.

What a shock - I know some people wanted less ballads and something ethnic, so they got it from Hungary, but this is in the same vain to me as Bosnia last year, just weaker. Only nice thing I can say is his interesting shirt so that gets some points. Maybe because this is so different, people will vote and it will get into the final - but I surely hope not.

Ooh, this is a bit different, isn't it? Love the local ethnic flair, while still using a universal hook in the chorus. The rhythmic nature of the Hungarian language lends itself to its rap bridge, too. Unique & special.

This is Awful! ethnic theme and rapping not a very good mix, doubt this will make the final

Another song which stands out, but I think it might have a bit of a limited audience. He is a good performer though, but it’s too marmite a song to do well, I think.

He looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights and needs to lose the beyond parody man-bun. As always with Hungary , there's not much fun to be had and a decent enough ethnic tune is wrecked by some rapping. The song isn't beyond saving but it feels like a work in progress.

I dislike this immensely. To me it just sounds like Jamala’s winning song sung by a bloke with some dodgy rapping thrown in to put us off the scent. Really horrible.

Dean

This starts well, and certainly holds my attention.  It continues Hungary ’s pattern of putting in serious entries, and should be strong enough to qualify.  I could probably do without the rap bit though.

6

Eddie

Ethnic pop, a violin, rapping, trad dancing, banging a watering can/drum - ticking all the boxes! Distinctive and fun. It all works together.

7

Edward

An atmospheric ethnic ballad in a mixture of unusual languages.  We have some clichéd dance and traditional instruments, but it is performed strongly and demands attention.  Very much my kind of thing, but I fear it´s trying to tread the path of last year’s winner, which rarely works at Eurovision.

Gary

Definite promise, as it starts… some mysterious rhythms, a serious singer who looks like he means business… but then a rap that ruins the whole thing. Very unusual mix of styles, but overall it doesn’t quite hit the spot, for me. Bring back Freddie!

I love the Roma vibe to this and it will stand out from the crowd. Surprisingly catchy.

I think we were spoilt in 2016 with Freddie.  This year Hungary have chosen for a more traditional number called Origo.  Slight rap feel to this track with a female dancer – haven’t got a clue what the story is, not in my personal top 20

Lloyd

The song has many different elements to it including rap with an eastern feel. I have listened to it a few times but I am just not getting it. Disappointing.

Really powerful standout song and performer.   Hungary often produce something that just resonates with me and this year is no different.  Sailing into the final.

The perfect entry for this year's official slogan, Joci brings Hungarian, Romani, ethnic sounds and hip hop all together in "Origo".  The majority of this is very melodic, wonderfully sung and stylishly delivered - hopefully the Eurovision jinx of "Non-English Rap" will not leave Hungary with a rare Final DNQ...

Matt

Great to hear Hungarian (languages were what drew me to the contest originally) and it is quite 'ethnic' and foot-tapping although I'm not sure how well this will do.  The middle section lets it down for me though.

6

Nico

Nobody can accuse Hungary of being predictable in their selections that's for sure. I love a bit of ethno pop and this has a memorable melody. However, I really want to like it more than I do. Perhaps it's the rap that puts me off or the meaningless words in the chorus. That's said, I really appreciate this brave choice.

Ethnic tones teamed with the sort of traditional dance they only seem to do in Hungary , followed by - hurray! - a burst of rap that is entirely out of keeping with the rest of the song. Just weird.
