The studio version of the song is boring and lacks emotion and drama. However, on stage, Lucie really did captivate me. The simplicity of her performance along with her raw emotion made this song the best choice for the UK . Depending on the draw and her performance in Kiev , we could see the UK in the top 15.

I really love this song.  Very good vocals, good enough song. The judges will appreciate this and I hope the televoters to. It needs a good stage image constructed well and than I hope UK will return to the top 10. Good effort UK .

A very good national final with a mediocre result. Ok mates it is a slow song with very nice lyrics she is very exprssive on stage but between 43 entries I am sure we all going to forget it. I love the British composers but I cannot "discriminate" the sent of it  in that song. UK you decided but....(

After reading all the moaning once the song was chosen I expected something very typical for the UK in Eurovision but no, it’s a nice song actually. The singer is very good-looking with strong voice. The only comment: it sounds for me like a slow/”acoustic” version of Kiesza like uptempo tune.

Lucie appeared barefoot during E:YD, possibly paying homage to her composer, Emmelie de Forest . 'NGUOY' came to life live or rather Lucie gave it life with pure emotion and elevated it with her amazing voice and captivating performance. This is very minimalistic, natural and organic but it does lack some direction and it really needs a good draw to bring in the points, ideally at the end of the presentation of the songs. Keep it simple and perhaps tighten it up a bit. I don't think the UK will be last but I can't see this in the top 10 either.

Yet another flat fall for UK . Lucie Jones has a really strong, nice voice but it's totally wasted on this song. It's a boring, empty excuse for a love ballad that ends without ever taking off. Sadly enough, it's still their best entrance in years.

Lucie has a beautiful voice, though I think she needs to control some tendency to shout. This is a lovely song. This was the best song of the BBC You Decide entrants. I really like this and I hope the UK does well this year. A definite top10.

Lovely lyrics and Lucy has nice voice, but the excess of highs is at some point, a demerit for the song, in spite I love ballads.

This is a song that grows on you after a few listens, unfortunately that means not a lot of people will vote for it after just one. I predict another lean year for the UK

This is an excellent entry and Lucie has an amazing ability to connect through the camera to viewers and sells what she’s singing. If rumours are to be believed and the BBC are going to tinker with the arrangement, this is going to be hard to beat. A kick in the final chorus like 2016’s “Made of Stars” would be perfect.

The song itself is nice, nice singer, strong and emotional voice. I personally think this is not as strong as Joe and Jake last year, but she will have a good position at the end.

A beautiful voice and a very emotional song but it definitely lacks something. I think with a bit of arrangements, like adding some drum sounds for example, this song could do well otherwise it might sound a bit too dull to the public.

oh no, sorry. Are they trying too hard to be like the countries from east ? Ok, she has a good voice, and I think this is a very difficult song to sing, but but I just don´t like it !

Co-written by Emmelie de Forest , this is an overall good song, a bit minimalist, in the footsteps of some current mainstream / adult contemporary ballads. It has a simply / sophisticated trend that could be somehow harmful. The result is, anyway, interesting; not thrilling, but interesting.

The 6 songs in the selection all acceptable although none outstanding but I could live with any of then. The Lucie song is quite song, although a little predictable. She reminds me of Prince William’s wife Kate, but none of the 6 had what I would call the X factor. With Emmelie de Forest one of the composers, it will probably get good points from Denmark (if they qualify to the final) and I think 10th last is more or less what we can expect on the scoreboard.

Lovely ballad, very capable performer, but this just doesn't seem to do much for me. I can't seem to remember much about it after a few listens...could use a bit more beefing up.

Great welsh singer, good voice, nice song, though the song a bit boring at times for me, it is missing something. It`s one of the best quality entry the UK have sent since a few years, we should do better than previous years.

By far the best song in the National Final and Lucie is an amazing performer; with a bit of a tweak this could give us our best result since Blue! Top 10? It’s a huge mountain to climb but it could happen!

For me, it's a case of 'Michael Ball/Sonia' in that the performance is probably greater than the song. A slightly heavier orchestration might help and the staging will make or break this entry. The best of a mediocre bunch in the UK final but not sure if this will make the left-hand side of the scoreboard.

Lucie has a super voice and emotes the stripped back ballad beautifully. Sadly, it just leaves me cold. 2 minutes after I'd seen it performed I could remember nothing about the melody.

When I first heard this on radio, I wasn’t especially impressed, but when Lucie performed it at the UK final it was clear that this song was the only option.  Lucie is a fantastic, engaging performer, and really delivers the song.  I think viewers will stop and listen to this entry, and it could do very well with the juries.  The song itself, however, is a little disappointing. I love Lucie, as they say, but wish she had something a bit stronger to sing.  That said, it's the UK ’s best entry since Blue.

A simple ballad sung by an amazing singer. The simplicity of it is its biggest selling point. I'd beef up the strings, simple staging and I'd say the UK could go top 10. Her voice is amazing!

I am really impressed by this.  It is a classic Eurovision ballad: swarthy minor key, string backing and the kind of uplifting message the UK needs to be sharing this year.  Lucy is a strong and likeable singer with the experienced to deliver the sense of the words.

Gary

Not my favourite at EYD but there is no denying that Lucie's voice is impressive and will stand the UK in good stead. The song itself is a little monotone for me and needs some surging strings to make it pop more. Potential for a better position than recent years though. Pob Lwc!

It's nice. Her voice is nice, the song is nice. I want something more than 'nice' though. Won't be a hit.

I was lucky enough to attend this year’s selection show “You Decide” in London .  I was pleased that the British public chose Lucie to represent the UK in this year’s Eurovision.  Looking back over the years the UK tends to do better with ballads, this catchy tune sticks in your head… It will be interesting to see how we do this year.  I’m predicting top 10.  GOOD LUCK LUCIE!

The great lyrics are brought to life by the clear vocals and delivery of sincere emotion by Lucie the core ingredients to perfect storytelling. It needs a memorable stage set and Lucie needs a fabulous dress to have the best chance to be on the left hand side of the board on the night.

This was my favourite in the pre-selection and I was ecstatic that it won.  Easily the best melody and Lucie is a classy performer with a great voice.  Unlikely to be troubling the top of the score board but a song I can feel proud of in Kyiv.

The best UK song since Moscow , Lucie gives this ballad with so little musical accompaniment so much life, her musical theatre experience providing the emotional delivery needed from a solo piece.  She left the London audience spellbound with her performance that took the song to a higher plane - the ' Lena effect'?

9

Matt

Excellent singer.  The song feels like it could have been much better than it ended up being.  I want to like it a lot but it doesn't really go anywhere.  Still, good quality for the UK and perhaps if it gets 'tweeked' it might reach its full potential?

7

Nico

Stunningly performed ok song. Beautiful and emotional. If as promised, it gets tweaked, and with a Danish team behind it it may well do, this could be really special.

Sally-Ann

The six entries were so middle of the road they nearly caused a pile-up on the M25 - but the best song won. More than the song though is the classy, understated performance from Lucie, and her pedigree in musicals shines through.  An entry to be proud of.
