GLOBAL ALTERNATIVE SONG CONTEST 2004
The Global Alternative Song Contest (GASC) will again run along side the OGAE Song Contest this year, following the success of the first GASC in 2003.
This Contest is for countries which cannot enter the OGAE Song Contest and is again being organised by OGAE UK.

The draw for the 2004 Global Alternative Song Contest semi finals was made today at 14.15 BST on saturday 3/7/2004 at The Coffee House, Southchurch Road, Southend on Sea, England. |

Having won in 2003, Bosnia will not be defending this year's contest, as they will be entering the OGAE Song Contest. The Global Alternative Contest is for countries (that at least have their own government) which, for whatever reason, are not eligible to enter the OGAE Song Contest. Voters representing the countries in this year's semi-finals of the GASC who fail to make this year's final, will, just like in this year's Eurovision, be able to vote in the final. |

SEMI FINAL Countries will be separated into groups and juries in these groups will only be able to vote on their group of countries. It is hoped to group the countries into 4 Regions – Australasian, European, African and American (N, S & Caribbean). This will depend on the final number of countries entering, as will the number which will go forward to the final. Ten countries already make the FINAL. |
