WHAT IS SECOND CHANCE RETRO? The Second Chance Contest started in 1987 (then called 'Europe's Favourite') and celebrates its 20th edition in 2006. In 2003, Sechuk.com initiated the idea of holding Second Chance Contests for the years preceding 1987 (in reverse order). The first of these was held towards the end of 2003 for songs entered in National Eurovision Selections of 1986. 2004 saw the 2nd Retro event take place, this time for 1985 and the event for 1984 took place in 2005 (etc, etc....). Also started in 2004 (for 1985), Guest Juries have their own Contest 'GUEST JURY HITS' (entering a Hit Song from their country for 1985 voted on by the same juries as RETRO 85, but as separate Contest). This new tradition continues, with all juries voting on both Contests at the same time. Chosen entries for 1983 are listed below. |
SECOND CHANCE RETRO 1983 OGAE Clubs in each country which held a National Selection for Eurovision in 1983 can choose their favourite (non-winning) song from their ESC Selection for SECOND CHANCE RETRO 1983. All other OGAE Clubs can participate as Guest Juries and also enter a Hit Song from 1983 in GUEST JURY HITS 1983. Both Retro 1983 and GJH 1983 are voted on by the same juries, from the same CD - and voting is announced on both contests via this site. 32 Clubs have agreed Participation - see below.
