WORLD PEACE SONG FESTIVAL - from OGAE ITALY

The World Peace Song Festival is an annual event run since 1996 by OGAE Italy. Countries from all over the World submit songs for a Eurovision style competition via cassette/CD and mail. The Contest has a special interest in minority languages and Sechuk has been delighted to arrange an entry from Wales for the Contest each year.

The Contest is arranged by Federico Stufi and colleagues of OGAE Italy and GRAZIE to them for sustaining this exchange of international music. Above you can see the logo used to 2004 on the left and the new logo introduced in 2005.

This section will be developed with the results and entries for each year. Some familiar names appear, together with some unusual ones! Enjoy.....

ENTRIES FROM WALES

Welsh Entries for 1996-1999, 2002, 2007 and 2008 were selected privately. In 2000 and 2001, a National Selection (Song 4 Wales) was held with International Jurors deciding the song to represent Wales. 2003 saw the return of the Song 4 Wales selection until 2006, then again from 2010. Select links below for more details on Song 4 Wales.

2007 saw the first entry from Wales entirely in English (one of the 2 languages of Wales), although the 2004 entry included Welsh and English lyrics.
