Sixteenth entry announced.

The Preliminary Round Results. Germany, Malta and Norway battled for a place in the WPSF04 Final. Click here for the results.

The Preliminary Round Begins. Germany, Malta and Norway go head to head. Jurors from the 3 countries plus 4 selected Jurors will decide which of these songs make the WPSF Final.

The method of voting in the preliminary round will be as follows:
7 jurors: 3 will be representatives of the 3 competing countries, 4 will be chosen from a circle of impartial and respected persons (“experts”).
The 3 representatives will not vote for their own country can award 5 pts and 3 pts; the 4 experts can award 5,3 and 1.
  
The preliminary round will be recorded on tape and countries will perform in alphabetical order, so Germany, Malta and Norway. The tapes should be sent before 10th October.
The identity of the four “experts” will be kept secret until results are complete.

I would like to inform you that the deadline to send the CD with your country's entry is fixed at 15th October; of course, in case that you have already fulfilled, please ignore this request. Secondly, the advised preliminary round will start early October; as a reminder - Norway, Germany and Malta will have to pass through a preliminary round where only one of them will get the ticket to WPSF 2004 final.

Regarding the forthcoming WPSF, I would like to inform you that further to more requests, I am compelled to hold a preliminary round in early October with 3-4 songs competing. So far these countries are Norway, Malta and Germany.
This is to limit the number of participating countries to around 20 and also to limit the number of European countries so that I can prevent this contest from becoming the EPSF!!!
In fact this year there will be the comeback of Slovakia and Hungary, and requests from NO, DE and MT came later.
More news will follow soon, though there is no hurry, as WPSF will take place in mid-December as usual.
As to the pre-selection voting method, I still have to decide.
