'MEN' by NANNE - UK ENTRY TO SECOND CHANCE 2001

Nanne Grönvall, Swedish Eurovision Star, represented the United Kingdom in the 2001 Second Chance Contest in Finland. The song 'MEN' (written by Kimberley Rew, of 'LOVE SHINE A LIGHT' fame) came fourth in the 2001 Song For Europe Contest. Nanne had already represented Sweden in both Eurovision and Second Chance - finishing top three on both occasions and did it again for the UK in 2001! Click on Nanne's picture to see her Home Page.

CONTEST COMMENT

It must be said that OGAE Finland did a great job with this year's Contest. The organisation has been excellent and its the first time for some years that the results have been available during the same year as the Contest! An enormous amount of effort was put into making the video with several suprises along the way (won't spoil them for anyone who hasn't yet seen the show). Excellent presentation, a lively audience, some great jury video links and a very popular winner. The voting sequence was a little confusing when first viewed, but with such a huge organisation, not everything is going to run smoothly. It may be a euro-cliché these days but "Thank you Finland for a GREAT show" and thanks too to all the participants of Second Chance 2001 (especially the fans in Ireland, Sweden and Poland who gave our "adopted" Nanne 12 Points!). Roll on 2002........  GARY
